Meet Nephtalie Hyacinthe

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nephtalie Hyacinthe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Nephtalie with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I inherited my work ethic from both of my parents. Like them, I am extremely professional and put my all into everything I am part of. I am very organized and I am very proactive in my planning. I am not such a perfectionist as many assumed because I know when to take a break. I make sure that I have a plan B and C. I don’t cheat my way to anything. I can tackle many things at once, I have a very strategic way of organizing my madness. My parents were exactly like that. My father was the supervisor of a mission he co-founded, overseeing many churches in Haiti while being the lead pastor in the central church. My mother was a director of many schools while raising 6 children. it’s all about the right balance.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My name is Nephtalie Hyacinthe. I am a public relations strategist. As a publicist, I managed the public image of public figures, businesses, and brands. In my field of work, no days are alike. Some days, I am working with celebrities; other days, my focus is on pitching to the media or writing press releases. I am the president of my PR agency, Talie & Co. Strategies, Which means, I am busy and must be productive daily. I specialized in entertainment, Community outreach, and Event Production. I am working on a cultural festival focusing on the administrative and PR aspects and a youth summit serving as the publicist. I am the publicist of a young entrepreneur who happens to be my daughter, you can learn more about her on delphineceo.com. I am also working very hard on my cosmetic line Born Ready Cosmetics.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, my love of reading has helped me along the journey. I will choose reading over a movie any day. I also love to write. I was always a creative writer because I read a lot. I also read with a pen and paper. I will see a phrase I like and it will spark something greater in my mind. My interest in the right information makes me a strong publicist. I ask a lot of questions, that was always in my nature. My eldest brother, Josias who went to be with the Lord when I was 14 years old, turned an attribute I had from negative to positive. I used to be a child who asked a lot of questions. He saw that I enjoyed doing that so much that he would make me go to random people and ask the right questions. At first, I didn’t even realize how powerful it was. I would go to the farmer’s market and ask the merchants questions like ” How long have you been selling? Did you make a profit? Why are you selling this Product?” I would gather all these answers, and then I would give him the answers. As I got older, I became the most informative person in the neighborhood. I wanted to know things that matter. I didn’t like the gossip I hated the gossip. I wanted to inform others of the great knowledge I acquired. All these things helped because I majored in public relations and minored in Journalism and Professional Writing.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The number one challenge that I am currently facing is my humanitarian mindset. As a preacher’s kid, I am so used to service that sometimes I forget that I am running a business. At the beginning of 2024, I had to train my brain to understand the value I bring to other people’s brands. I also had to put everyone who expects me to do my work, a career that I went to school for, for free as a user. These people have no respect for me because they want to devalue my worth. It’s a major challenge because my heart hurts when I say no. Now, I demand respect. I am not negotiating my price, I am not doing it for free and I need my payment on time. I also focus on my niche. I used to accept any clients because I could do the work, now I am very focused and very calculated with clients that I accept. I have created the ” TalieCo PR Fit ” questionnaire to help me dish out if I should even listen to this potential client. Some people are good at wasting other’s time. There are 3 phases that I follow: 1) Is it 100% my niche? 2) Is it TalieCo PR Fit? 3) Are they willing to give a deposit which will be held for the last month?
