Meet Kadda Sheekoff

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kadda Sheekoff. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kadda below.

Kadda, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

We all have days where our self esteem hits a low. Most of my lack of confidence came from when I wasn’t so sure how to do something. “We all gotta start somewhere.” I say that constantly. Even now, over a decade in – I’m always learning something new. Surrounding myself with supportive individuals who uplift and encourage me has been invaluable in supporting my confidence during difficult times.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Growing up, I was extremely shy and lacked confidence, particularly in my physical appearance. This shyness stemmed from deep-seated doubts and fears about what others might think of me. However, my journey towards self-assurance began in High School, where I was surrounded by confident and outspoken individuals. Now I’m the CEO and founder of Kadda Sheekoff INFO. I grew up in a small town in Haiti called Haut-Coq Chante, At the age of eleven, my family immigrated from Jacmel, Haiti to the United States.
I’ve always been drawn to Law and detective, spending countless hours on my laptop, searching information about Haitian and American artists.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Fake it till i you make it. There is some wisdom in acting like you are something before you become it. eventually the new behavior becomes your baseline behavior.
Ok, that was a joke!! Now let’s be serious, For anything you want to do for a living, investing in your physical, mental, and emotional health is essential. Being physically and mentally fit are the foundation for sustained high-performance on any field of life. 1. resiliency 2. grit 3. ability to embrace failure

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My father used to tell me “what are you getting from this, you going to school tomorrow. Come on go to bed get some rest” but I always tells him I need to know more about Wyclef Jean, Jimmy Jean Louis and a lot of artists. But to get those information to write an article I have to look very deep online. Nothing is smooth in this world, Fail fast, fail often to rise to a higher level of success. and as an Haitian I have zero fear of trying new things. What I’ve learned along the way in my 30+ years: You’ve gotta keep getting outside your comfort zone and try as much as you can to find out what you’re good at. I encourage everyone needing a boost of confidence to build it from a solid foundation, optimism is the right mindset to start from, but you need to take dedicated intentional action and effort to get better at anything, and only be actually becoming better you get the right kind of confidence that lasts and can stand the test of life. Focus on ‘getting better’, not on ‘appearing to be better’.
