Meet ANDREA RODRIGUEZ

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ANDREA RODRIGUEZ. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ANDREA below.

Hi ANDREA, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Going with the flow of life. I’ve had so many different careers and chapters in my life, and I am so thankful for all of the experiences because they have all led me to where I’m at today. I have never followed what everyone else was doing and stuck to my own path. When you truly follow your own intuition and heart, you will flow with everything that is aligned with you in the moment to get you where you’re supposed to be in life. Your purpose, your calling.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a private and celebrity Stretch Lymph specialist based in Los Angeles by referral only. I specialize in the buccal facial massage, lymphatic drainage & sculpting massage, stretch therapy, maderotherapy, Ayurvedic scalp massage and my own signature method – The Stretch Lymph method. I work with pretty amazing clients and I am so thankful for them. My career transitioned from stand up comedian and actress prior to the pandemic to where I am now. I was always doing body work part time while doing stand up comedy, but after the pandemic stopped entertainment altogether, I started doing this full time with two clients. They eventually referred me to more people who then referred me to others. Soon after, I was getting celebrities and athletes sent to me all by word of mouth. Not only did this come to me naturally, I truly do enjoying helping others feel good and I know that this is what my true calling is. At first, it was through laughter and stand up comedy which definitely helped prepare me for this chapter of my life in so many ways.

As for new things coming up for me, I just launched a new, more intense body shaping service called the Super Slimming Massage that is designed to reshape the silhouette, firm the skin and fight all types of cellulite. I was inspired to do this after my trip to France, and clients are already loving it. I am also teaming up with a skin care line from the Philippines which is where my family is from. I am very excited to introduce more of my culture to my clients. The products are unique and are known to have signature natural ingredients that are more anti aging than most if not all of what’s out there today. And you can only find them in the Philippines!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think stand up comedy and entertainment built up this confidence and boldness in me that will stick with me forever. It also connected me with so many people in Los Angeles. I think it’s important to be bold in life and never second guess yourself – especially when you are following your own intuition. Be bold… take risks…be curious…ask questions…never take no for an answer…figure things out. I think trusting in yourself is key and knowing that everything will work out in the best way for you no matter what.

Having practiced this, I developed a natural skill for feeling people’s bodies and faces and being able to release what they are storing in them – whether it be muscle tension, toxins, puffiness, stress or straight up negative emotions. I grew up doing this to myself and those around me, so it was only natural for me to pass this on to others.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was let me decide how I was going to live my life. Even though my mother wanted me to go to a big university like all of my friends and become a nurse, both her and my father still accepted me when I decided to do the opposite and run off to New York, become a model, drop out of college, model in Asia, move to LA and then randomly become a comedian. (LOL) I think it’s so great that they let me figure out life on my own. I was able to experience different things and see what works and what doesn’t. There was a lot highs and definitely a lot of lows, but I would never take back any of it. It’s important to be on your own journey.
