Meet Eugene Ebner-Page

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eugene Ebner-Page. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eugene below.

Eugene, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
From the time I was very young, I knew that I was highly sensitive and empathic. Ironically, my father was extremely narcissistic. Cycles of abuse are often ancestral. Not surprisingly, my father had been physically abused by my grandfather, a severe alcoholic. Due to the trauma that I experienced, it caused mental health challenges over time, such as panic attacks, OCD, depression and low self-esteem. I learned how to present myself publicly in a way that allowed most people to believe that I lived in a perfect home environment. It really began to show its true colors when my mother, who was my protector, tragically passed away when I was only 23 years old. From then on, I made it my mission to prove to others that I was successful, even if I actually felt worthless. My mother loved the performing arts and encouraged me to pursue a career in opera. For decades I attempted to make it big in the entertainment business.
Instinctively, I have always known that I have a natural ability to inspire and create a safe place to counsel people. Since the pandemic I have been exploring not only my own inner healing, but also taking classes in the realm of psychology and spirituality. My goal is to create a safe space and to assist others in their own journey of healing.
I have overcome these mental health challenges by facing them head on and doing the work, including years of therapy and reading countless self-help books and attending conferences and workshops.
Thankfully I have had special people along the way, such as my husband, who has supported me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I feel like things have come full circle for me. I have a passion for interviewing others and have always been naturally inquisitive. I have produced numerous podcasts and webcasts since 2007. In 2011, I was certified in Event Planning. My husband and I launched Ebner-Page Productions in 2015 with a mission to plan and produce inspiring events that unite all walks of life. Currently, plans are underway to take my intuitive and transformative counseling to the next level with a new podcast as well as a series of retreats and events that utilize arts therapy and spirituality.
In addition to the above, I will also be counseling individuals both virtually and in person.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
* Resilience * Creativity
* Compassion

It is imperative to know ourselves and to listen to our own inner voice and intuition – above anyone else. When we know we can depend on ourselves and trust our own voice, then you are able to weather the storm more successfully.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I love collaboration, especially with like-minded people. Our true creative spark comes from within. And when you’re able to share that with someone else who understands, true magic occurs. I envision bringing on co-hosts for my upcoming podcast and also collaborating with those who are on a similar journey of self-healing and co-creation. I see empowering events taking place all over the world!
