Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daisy Garza Jardine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daisy, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose after witnessing the struggles my Mexican immigrant parents faced in the real estate business. They had difficulty finding someone in the mortgage industry who spoke their language and could clearly explain the steps and process. This inspired me to join the business and become a financial guide, helping many others navigate the journey of purchasing a home.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a loan officer dedicated to guiding individuals through the home-buying process. Inspired by my parents’ challenges in this field, I strive to offer clear, accessible guidance to those who need it most. The most exciting part of my job is helping people achieve their dream of homeownership and knowing I’ve made a complex process easier for them.
What sets my brand apart is my commitment to personalized service and my ability to connect with clients in their preferred language, ensuring they fully understand every step. Additionally, I bring a wealth management approach to lending, thanks to my years of experience in that sector. This unique perspective allows me to offer comprehensive financial advice, helping clients not only secure a mortgage but also manage their overall financial health.
This year, I’m launching a series of community workshops aimed at educating first-time homebuyers about the mortgage process, providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed decisions. These events are designed to be informative, interactive, and provide financial tips to improve clients’ financial health. Did you know that 80% of clients have never heard of a high yield savings account? Clients can use accounts like this to cover home buying costs like inspections, appraisal, etc.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are empathy, financial acumen, and effective communication.
1. Empathy: Understanding my clients’ needs and challenges, especially those from diverse backgrounds, has been crucial. My advice for developing this quality is to actively listen and put yourself in others’ shoes. Volunteering or working with community organizations can help build this skill.
2. Financial Acumen: My background in wealth management provided me with a strong foundation in financial knowledge, which is essential in guiding clients through the mortgage process. To improve in this area, I recommend continuous education, whether through formal courses, certifications, or staying updated with the latest financial trends and regulations.
3. Effective Communication: Being able to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms is vital. To enhance this skill, practice speaking to different audiences and seek feedback. I have engaged in public speaking, teaching, or conducting workshops can also be beneficial.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to invest time in learning and practicing these skills. Building a strong network of mentors and peers in your field can provide support and opportunities for growth. Additionally, staying committed to your purpose and being adaptable will help you navigate the challenges and succeed in your career.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking to partner and collaborate with others. I believe that collaboration can amplify our impact and bring diverse perspectives to the table, ultimately benefiting our clients and the community.
I am particularly interested in working with individuals who share a commitment to financial education and empowerment. Whether you’re a financial advisor, real estate professional, divorce attorney, accountant or someone with expertise in related fields, your insights and skills could be incredibly valuable in our joint efforts to support homebuyers and improve financial literacy.
If you’re interested in collaborating, please reach out to me through my professional network or contact me directly via email. Let’s work together to make a difference and help more people achieve their financial goals.
