Hunter, we are so deeply grateful to you for opening up about your journey with mental health in the hops that it can help someone who might be going through something similar. Can you talk to us about your mental health journey and how you overcame or persisted despite any issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.

Mental health plays a big part in my life. The stress, ups and downs, and constant thoughts of hating yourself. It’s an overwhelming wave of different emotions and feelings. Days where I’m doing great and days I’m doing bad; they all add up. I believe my mental health problems are debilitating but I learn a lot from them. I think mental health plays a big role in everyone’s life. I think my condition is crucially important due to the fact it affects my daily life duties. I’ve gone through a lot of great and bad periods of my life, one thing I did not do is give up on myself. The one thing that was truly hard was believing it was going to be okay. It is staying in that positive mindset even when things are hard. The storm always passes but it’s learning how to deal with the rain. There is always a rainbow after the storm. Why I say that is because storms don’t last and your emotions don’t either.

I believe mental health problems are a daily thing to overcome. They come back or they stay for certain people. They can improve or get worse without proper care. I don’t think I overcome my problems with mental health. I think I maintained them and made sure I was handling my stress and daily life struggles accordingly. I know I fully persisted and stayed on top of my health at all times. It is always important to put your health first before anything or anyone. One thing I learned is you have to put your mental health before a job, family, or friends. You are your biggest priority. Nobody else is trukly going to save you except for yourself.

The ways I persisted through my mental health challenges are varied. I like to workout, listen to music, and look at nature. It’s always good to have a coping technique to deal with your life stressors. I always like to have a healthy outlet to let my negative emotions go. The more I act on positive outlets the better. If I take my problems out on alcohol or any illicit drug it will only worsen them.

One thing I can tell you is I always kept going and even when my life started to fall apart ; I always picked myself back up. If I can, you can. One step one day at a time.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am currently a fitness and health social media influencer. I promote healthy living and help others start to love themselves through fitness. I enjoy the interaction between my audience, they even help me build and become better. Not only do I love inspiring others to get fit. I’ve worked with over thirty brands in the industry. I’m so lucky to get these chances to collaborate or partner with major high end companies. It’s truly a great opportunity to be apart of.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three most important skills for me would have to be persistence, determination, and consistency, Why I say this is because they all go hand in hand. I have to be determined to stay consistent. I have to be persistent in everything I do. Giving up is no longer an option. Staying on track even when things get tough is necessary.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I’m overwhelmed I learn to calm my mind by techniques such as breathework or meditation. It always good to have some sort of method to help calm you down right away. You have to find something that suits you right. I also think if you stop and remove yourself from that situation may help relieve your stress.
