My passion for creativity ignited at the tender age of five when I discovered the joy of finger painting and became captivated by the concept of bringing something into existence from nothing. I pursued my education in Applied Art and Design at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and furthered my studies in Advertising and Digital Media at the Art Center of Design in Pasadena. In 1987, I founded HOW CREATIVE®.

Recognizing the stark reality that over 95% of businesses falter or plateau within 3 to 5 years, I felt compelled to reverse this trend and foster success among enterprises. Moreover, I observed that most businesses only achieve around 25% of their potential. Determined to address this disparity, I developed a solution to empower businesses to realize their full potential. My philosophy centers on the belief that thriving businesses benefit stakeholders and contribute to a robust economy and societal well-being. This principle drives my commitment to fostering success among enterprises.

Leveraging my creativity and business acumen, I pioneered the We Design Businesses® framework through my exclusive SIM System™, catalyzing heightened profitability, dynamic organizational cultures, and the establishment of industry-leading brands. The SIM System empowers enterprises to unleash untapped potential and redefine their trajectories, deviating from traditional methods to expedite timelines, amplify profitability, and transcend sector limitations. Rooted in the conviction that every business harbors a distinctive story, I facilitate profound connections between companies and their clientele, yielding substantial results. Our portfolio of clients has generated billions in revenue. I believe that a strong economy creates happier people.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities that have profoundly impacted my journey are:

1. **Passion for Self-Improvement:** I have always challenged myself to be the best I can be in whatever I create. This relentless drive has pushed me to continuously reinvent myself and my business to stay relevant for years to come.

2. **Strong Educational Foundation:** My education at Cal Poly and the Art Center provided me with the opportunity to master my craft in the creative field. Studying under the best teachers instilled in me a commitment to excellence, making it my ultimate goal.

3. **Whole-Brain Thinking:** I approach solutions with a balance of systematic process and creative innovation, ensuring a comprehensive perspective that enhances customer experience. This holistic approach has been integral to my success.

My advice to aspiring professionals is to take the necessary time to master your craft and always aim for quality. Quality is a valuable investment that pays off significantly for both customers and buyers. Study and learn from the best, and let excellence be your guiding principle.
