We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tara Deal. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tara below.
Tara, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem by first getting to know and understand who I truly am as an individual. This included recognizing my likes and dislikes, my passions and boundaries, and what makes me happy. It also involved believing in myself wholeheartedly and trusting in my ability to tackle anything I set my mind to. Additionally, I took time to understand the value I bring to the world, which reinforced my sense of self-worth and gave me the courage to live life freely and face any challenges head-on.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the proud co-founder and creative director of Five Star Social LLC, a full service social media marketing agency helping entrepreneurs use social media and digital marketing in order to connect with their target audiences, drive sales and increase brand awareness. I also have over 12+ years of experience in design & brand strategy, digital marketing, social media content and management. I’ve assisted numerous brands and high-profile clients in launching their businesses by creating captivating content and implementing effective online strategies that grew their following and increased their revenue.
Additionally, I am my own client as the content creator behind the popular brand and astrology meme account @thatlibrachic on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, boasting over 80k followers combined. My brand focuses on real-life humor and astrology for the Libra zodiac, and got so popular, leading to features in several online magazines and multiple appearances as a guest commentator on TMZLive.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities that played a significant role were my creativity, adaptability, and resilience. For those early in their journey, I advise focusing in on their talents and qualities, while also honing their skills in their chosen field. Surround yourself with supportive mentors and peers, seek out opportunities for learning and growth, and never underestimate the power of networking and building genuine connections. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to take risks and follow your passion, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone. With dedication and perseverance, you can turn your dreams into reality.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life is one book that really changed my views about life. Mark Manson teaches us to let most of the little things go that try to distract us and focus on what truly matters. It gave me insight on how to focus on my priorities and not the irrelevant small events and people which try to consume my energy unnecessarily on daily basis and to take responsibilities for my own actions and to start being true to myself. It’s definitely giving the best ways to be unbothered.
