Meet Karla Dascal

We recently connected with Karla Dascal and have shared our conversation below.

Karla, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I developed my confidence and self esteem by going within. By learning how to look inside and understand what my body and mind were craving, by understanding the importance of listening our intuition, by testing my self and going after what I knew I needed, by trusting my intuition, by retreating when necessary, by education myself on the things and themes that I had an interest in, and I was passionate about, by reinventing myself and evolving with life. By choosing me, my wellbeing, my mental and physical health as well as choosing those around me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I came from a very stressful career in the event business. At the time I didn’t have any wellness routines, or balance between life and work. Despite my success in my professional life, my declining health with obesity and diabetes diagnosis led me to embark on my own spiritual journey to find the connection with myself and my purpose.

Based on my own life experiences, I became very passionate about sharing the practices and the healers that supported my evolution throughout the years.

My days now are fulfilled by doing what I love and spending time with those that uplift my soul and allow me to grow.

Through The Paradise Farms Foundation, we are able to foster learning opportunities, through the power of sustainable, nutrient-rich practices that drive positive transformations at both the community, and individual scales.

We give back by creating experiences to educate our community on regenerative practices and cultivating local community engagement. Additionally any unsold produce is donated to a community Fridge in Homestead run by the Buddy System Miami’s food access program to provide people experiencing economic hardship with access to food assistance and help to combat excess food waste.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1.Trust your intuition. Deep inside we all know what is for us and what is not. When something is over and has already had its season, deep inside we know. If we do not connect with that inner wisdom, it would be harder for us to evolve in businesses and life with integrity.

2.Vision. I always knew what I wanted to provide to the community through my own businesses and life. We have been pioneers in many of our endeavors in Miami. It all started with a vision and the belief that is was possible for us.

3.Curiosity. Always be open to learn, to start something new, to reinvent yourself.

For anyone who is willing to improve their journey I would suggest for them to surround themselves with people who believe in you and in your project. Having consistency and a long term approach is key. We are very used to want things immediately, but projects take time to shape, and we must allow ourselves the time to grow and evolve with them.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

“A return to love” by Marianne Williamson. It has provided exceptional teachings about the power we have when we learn to love ourselves.
