We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andrea Kupferman Ali Owoc a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Andrea Kupferman, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Andrea and Ali. Best friends for 16 years… and counting! They grew up together and experienced their own trials and tribulations, which led them to develop their own self-awareness and growth. Having done and continuously working on their own healing, growth, and development, Andrea and Ali most definitely practice what they preach!
They both quickly found themselves wanting to facilitate this powerful healing for others and became psychotherapists. Bonding over their common passion for helping others, they came together to develop a revolutionary way to heal and impact the minds of many.
Insightful Therapists are dedicated to facilitating self-awareness, healing, and growth through increased insight and strategies. Helping you live out your full potential.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Building anything takes time, energy, effort, and vision.
Ali and I continuously recommit ourselves to, first and foremost, providing tremendous and transformational value to our clients and to the community! From this approach, we naturally find success in our business. Yes, there have been challenges and we use the same tools we teach our clients, to help us best navigate through those challenges. We love that we each bring something different yet so complimentary to the table.
A challenge we are continuously navigating through is expanding our knowledge on the business side of running a company. There is so much involved in effectively running a business that we did not learn in graduate school. Thank goodness for the internet, networking groups, and other business-savvy professionals!
We choose to accept and even welcome challenges, as they offer the opportunity for growth and expansion, and continuously remind each other that we are more than capable of figuring out how to best navigate them with integrity and efficiency. The same message we love to empower our clients with.
If you are looking to grow a business, where you are passionate about your mission, we would suggest prioritizing your own mental-health and wellbeing, knowing and using your strengths and then finding others to help you with what you are not strong in, and continuous reevaluation and recommitment to your goals.
We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
This is a great question; it reminds me of that quote, “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes is better than a master of one.”
This may be the therapist in me and it may be a bit controversial in the business world, but I think a more powerful question would be, What do you want to be and how can you act in more alignment with your values.
Whichever way you decide to go, and this can be fluid – meaning you don’t have to commit to one “way” forever – there will be an exchange.
If you are a person who values being versed in many topics/skills then I would suggest committing to actions that move you closer to living a life in alignment with that value. If you value being very well versed in a few skills/topics and leveraging the knowledge of others to help you achieve business goals, then commit to actions that lead you in that direction.
This is a long winded answer to: Decide what you value and take committed action that will align with those values.
