Meet Natalie Moore

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Natalie, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

I try really hard to implement self-care into my day to day life. I started doing this little by little a few years ago and have been getting better and better at it as time has gone by. I have a tendency to be a bit of a workaholic in the sense that I always want to be working on something, planning for something, or being productive in some way. This is both a blessing and a curse because when I am working on something I get really focused on it which makes me a really hard worker, but I have also in the past gotten burnt out this way. I’ve learned that it’s SO important to implement self-care into your life in order to prevent this. For me, that means forcing myself to slow down from time to time in the midst of the hustle. Some of the ways I like to do this include spending time outside, going for a walk, reading, grabbing a coffee, or listening to music. Taking the time to do things that help me relax and destress has worked wonders in my life and I find that I’m actually enjoying my work and my life a lot more when I’m in a calm state of mind, which is how it’s supposed to be!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am an actress and singer based in Los Angeles. I have loved acting and singing since I was a little girl and am so grateful that I’ve been blessed with so many amazing opportunities over the years. Currently, I am working on a feature film called Hidden Lives, a crime/thriller/horror movie about a young singer/songwriter named Hannah (played by me) who finds herself caught up in a scary living situation when her new roommate Samantha basically loses her marbles. This is my first feature film as a lead so it’s very exciting! The film was written and directed by Abraham Lopez and brought to life with his company, A Greek God Entertainment. We are currently in the final stages of post-production for the film and are hoping to release it around Halloween.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Patience, perseverance, and a strong sense of self are all very important qualities to have in this business. Patience, because things very rarely happen instantaneously and everything is a process. Perseverance, because you have to have the strength to keep going when you get knocked down, rejected, or when things don’t go according to plan. And strong sense of self, because there are people who might try to tear you down or put doubts in your head, and you have to know who you are in order to block these things out. It’s kind of hard to say how you build these qualities because everyone is different and it’s kind of just something that comes with life experiences, but my best advice would be to just keep going at what you love and they will come naturally with time and experience.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

I would say one of the biggest ways I have grown in the past year is that I have become more open to new experiences and trying new things. I’ve always been interested in learning how to dance, so about 6 months ago I started taking ballet classes, something that a few years ago I would have never imagined I’d be doing today. I also entered a short story I wrote into a writing competition earlier this year and am planning on entering another one this month. As an artist, it’s so important to exercise your creativity and to always continue learning and growing.
