Boitumelo , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Boitumelo Diseko-Ngubeni’s resilience was inspired by her mom. Her mom is a strong, beautiful and resilient woman. Diseko-Ngubeni got inspired and started being resilient from a young age in her school work then later in her career.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
B Artworks Gallery has been a conceptual idea on Boitumelo Diseko-Ngubeni’s mind from a young age. Diseko-Ngubeni is an artist first then a business woman second.
B Artworks Gallery is an art business that aims to inspire through artworks. We live in a world that is constantly perpetuating subliminal messages to look like or be like someone else. B Artworks Gallery inspires people to be unique just like artworks are. Be Artworks and aspire to inspire.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Determination, faith in God, inquisitive mind and love for what you do. Having faith in God is imperative because He is in control, trusting in His will is best because His ways are better than our ways.
One needs to be determined because in life the are ups and downs. When you fail you need to take it as a lesson and do better.
You’ll never go far if you don’t have an inquisitive mind, having an inquisitive mind pushes you to learn more and not remain stagnant.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One book that has had an impact in Boitumelo Diseko-Ngubeni’s life is a book once given by her Youth Leader when she was a teenager. The book is titled ‘The leader who had no title’s by Robin Sharma. Leadership plays a big role in business or any job one takes. It’s easy to get caught up in chasing the title than impacting those around you. She reads the book every year to keep her grounded. A true leader is someone who inspires and influences others, regardless of their formal role in an organization.
