We recently connected with Andrea Ramirez and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
The age old question , what’s my purpose?
I like to think it’s a lifelong ongoing project . To find and embody my purpose .
To be completely honest on some days it’s clear as day and other days it’s foggy.
To paint a clearer picture let’s go way back to when I began cooking professionally about 12 years ago . Baking to be exact .
At the time I was hungry for experience and knowledge and didn’t foresee any roadblocks. Everything looked so possible so attainable so easy .
But with time I grew tired , undervalued and completely burnt out .
It seemed like I could never feel at total peace with what I thought was my purpose .
My search began with this question we all seem to visit all to often – what’s my purpose . What am I here to do ? To be ?

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
And so my journey of discovery began .
In 2020 like many other folks I was laid off . Very little restaurants were keeping their doors open. It was a scary time but to be transparent with you I was relieved.
Here was this clarity coming at such an odd time , but the timing couldn’t have been more perfect .
It was as if this insane moment the entire world was involved in catapulted my own personal journey .
I began looking into EVERYTHING . I read a crazy amount of books , took all the courses ,breathwork , learned about my astrology and how I’m meant to show up , began my hypnotherapy and sound healing career and it hasn’t stopped since then .
I even experimented with plant medicine and ancestral wisdom . Man o man was I open to this whole new world! It felt so expansive , so empowering so right !
I placed the order and the universe delivered !
Now I continue on this journey of self discovery accompanying others on their journey . Whether it’s with sound healing, hypnotherapy and most recently on a more esoteric note visiting their Akashic records .
It’s so beautiful and important to get to know ourselves in all our glory .
The good the bad and the ugly –
To me that’s a purpose as a collective and community we all share .
Job #1 who am I before I can ask what am I here to do?.
And that my friend is a lifelong journey . A beautiful one not to be met with fear but perhaps inviting excitement and curiosity.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Be patient – sometimes we’re gonna want to blast off into hyperspace with this lifelong work but let’s crawl before we walk.
Take it easy. You might even encounter anxiety or might feel like it’s taking long.
What I’ve learned about this experience we call life is more about the journey than the destination. Savor the moments along the way .
That brings us to another important quality
Stay true to yourself.
Follow your intuition and heart on aspects of your life . This can relate to a job / relationship/ place where you find yourself in life .
We all get caught up on what will others think . What will they say ?
I’m here to tell you in the grand scheme of things none of this matters only
What makes YOU happy . What lights YOU up ? What feels right to YOU ?
Lastly the importance of the tools we acquire along the way .
For me holistic practices have been my life jacket keeping me afloat .
Personally Sound therapy kept me sane when I worked in the kitchen I would look forward to that decompression and recalibration every week !
Breath-work showed me that you can access insane states of consciousness on merely your breath !
Hypnotherapy has taken me back in time to access memories long forgotten that are so important to my life in this moment . The information and nuggets of wisdom that I got from so many sessions have helped me out immensely in finding my place in this world .
The Akashic records have been such a roadmap for me. So many things explained in such a mystical way that made perfect sense .
Herbalism- let’s not forget our allies the plants . They’re truly such a gift to us .
The way plants supported me in so many ways (physically and emotionally) and continue to do so is just plain magic.
Yoga – movement is so important to the body and to our energy . It’s such a powerful duo .
In yoga your practice involves your mind and body working together in perfect harmony. Always useful for other aspects of life .
My advice to others going through their own journey is
Don’t be afraid to go deep . That’s where the magic happens .
Where the magic happens is usually out of the ordinary . Embrace thinking outside the norm and step into the unknown .
No matter what you’ll learn something . Whether it be “good” or “bad”.
The mind likes the familiar it’s going to take some effort to step out of your comfort zone but I promise- it’s worth it .

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed I lean on nature .Exposure to natural environments like parks and forests boosts our immune system.
Additionally walking in nature lowers stress and anxiety .
Studies have found that spending time in nature lowers blood pressure , adrenaline and cortisol .
Plants also give off phytoncides, airborne chemicals that plants give off.
When we breathe in these chemicals, our bodies respond by increasing healthy white blood cells that help
us fight disease.
Something else I do when I feel overwhelmed is that I meditate . I know can I be more cliche ?! But jokes aside meditation brings so much clarity and perspective to any issue at hand.
At first it might be a challenge to observe our chatty minds but I promise keep at it and it will change how you communicate with yourself , the thought patterns we seem to be in a loop in and our perspective on the world.
