Meet Luscious T.

We recently connected with Luscious T. and have shared our conversation below.

Luscious , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Learning to be effective and strive for excellence has always been an ongoing journey of growing and adapting. During the early stages of my career as a dancer in Los Angeles, my outlook was completely different. I was focused on non stop training and pushing to get into the audition rooms to book the jobs that I wanted so badly. Even with a million no’s I eventually started to become successful in my pursuits. Then I really became a sponge for knowledge. Learning how not only to get into the room but how to stay there. There were a few components to this.

Understanding that I, as a person hold value in any space was a big one. The knowledge, talent, and kindness I bring to the room and to the people around me is invaluable and the reason I am in the room/booked on the job. It is a different type of confidence and way of being present. No one could take that away from me. Overtime I worked in many different spaces. In some rooms, the people looked like me and in others I was a singular entity. But because of my confidence in myself and my belief that there is always something to be learned and shared, I was able to hold my own and continue to strive to be better. Over a decade later, I hope to bring that same value and confidence to my drag persona, Luscious T. The outward world may say we are this, that, or lesser than but we always hold the power to believe in ourselves and hold space for others too. There is only one me like There is only one you. Sharing what I know and also being open to learning more never stops. Staying a student of the world and never forgetting to lead with love and compassion are things I live by. In or out of drag.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

In 2024, I did my first pageant and was named Miss Gay Long Beach America 2024. This has been a very exciting time because holding such a title reminds me that there is always something to strive for and to believe in. 10 years ago if you told me that I would be doing drag and have a reigning title I wouldn’t have believe you. But as life goes, things are forever growing and evolving. As an entertainer, I couldn’t be prouder of the work I get to do now. I get to entertain, educate, being a total rockstar, and also work amongst and with people who are different just like me. And biggest of all, maybe inspire someone in their journey to be or do whatever they want.

On top of all this, I’ll be doing my first residency in Los Angeles as a dancer starting this September. I’m very excited & humbled to continue to do the things I love, with people I love and also share it all with the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that were instilled in me that never go out of style include: always remaining a student of the world, having a great work ethic, and always leading with love/compassion. The perfect way to develop or improve these are to do the things that make you happy/help you grow and always surround yourself with people that challenge you & make you better.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

At the top of the mountain, there is collaboration. As a dancer and drag artist, my interest are all over the map. From music, to fashion, history, and people culture, there’s much to be inspired by and talk about. Drag is full on heightened theater. If you can imagine that!

I would love to collaborate with djs, costume & fashion designers, pop culture enthusiasts, photographers, makeup artist, and anything surrounding the arts. If you believe that there are great things to made and experience, Luscious T. is the entity for you!

Please out to me via email or Instagram and throw crazy ideas around. Something will land.
