We were lucky to catch up with Jill King recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jill, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome is such a reality when it comes to making any creation that people end up loving and trusting! After I developed some of my products, when I started getting orders I felt so unworthy of people using something that I developed, knowing there are so many big skincare brands out there they could use instead. In order to overcome this, I had to remind myself that the ingredients I was using are accessible to all and wonderful for all- I was simply harnessing the natural powers of the Earth’s benefits. I do have a background in wellness and holistic living and skincare truly is an extension of that holistic medicine. Sourcing the best ingredients I can find is a huge part of the process and I am so confident in the ingredients, which makes me confident in the products. Our skin is our largest organ and Honeybee Hippie is simply helping others feed their skin with natural elements of the Earth.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
We are so excited right now about a new angle in the product line- we are coming out with a line of Chinese herbal infused castor oil packs soon that I’m developing with my acupuncturist friend and an expert in Chinese herbs. We are excited to be entering the wellness and well being space rather than just skincare. Overall as a brand we are focusing on intention and have made several changes to the product like in order to make things simplified and intentional. Quality over quantity of products is the name of the game!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The quality that has been most impactful on my journey has been honoring God in the raising of my family and running my business with integrity, honesty and high moral standards. The knowledge that has been most important is studying foods, herbs, health & exercise throughout my life in order for it to result in my business. My background in physical therapy also helped to understand how the body works and what it needs to be healthy. My advice is to keep learning and don’t be afraid to try new things. Health is about more than just checklist- it’s about connecting with others and being in nature and being thankful for all God has given us and what he has done. Even when times are tough and we are going through things in our lives, keep going – be there for others and let them be there for you.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, we are always looking for people to collaborate with! We love collaborating with other businesses to do giveaways and we love connecting with content creators and influencers for our affiliate program or to trade product for content. We also love connecting with holistic doctors who can try and recommend the products and have been blessed to have connected with several great ones as of recent. Our wholesale program is also something to keep in mind for any stores, yoga studios, massage therapists, and more if they are interested in carrying the products wholesale in their place of business!
