We recently connected with Zae G and have shared our conversation below.

Zae, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I grew up homeless as a adolescent

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I like to describe myself as a metaphorical lyricist. I don’t cuss a lot and I try to bring the art of story telling back and speaking on relevant. I have a new video and song coming out called Hands. I’m a independent artist that started my entertainment name while living in indiana. I want to run a successful record label and help other creatives become successful

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Language arts was definitely a plus. Wanting to always take care of my family kept me focused. And having the right people in my corner made it easy for me to decide what I wanted to do. So id say for anyone trying to make it to just stay down until you come up and learn to take constructive criticism. I’m always being corrected or having to correct myself because life is a rollercoaster there is always going to be something that happens or comes along, but it’s how you handle it that matters. And educate yourself as much as possible.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

Right now would be the judicial system. I advise staying out the way and out of trouble as much as possible because being locked up or in and out of court doesn’t help your progress.
