Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Daniel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brian, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
On those days when I feel like I’m doubting myself, I go back and read my own book. That might sound self-serving or neurotic, but when I go back and read about all my accomplishments, I then realize how much I know. I also like to look through my scrapbook to see all the places I’ve been for work. After I do those things, it puts the wind back into my sails and I can get back to work.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Brian Daniel is a former personal assistant and chief of staff to celebrities, royalty, and Forbes list families. He’s now a headhunter for high-net-worth families and billionaires. No other recruiter in the domestic staffing industry has Brian’s experience, and he’s widely considered to be the strictest of all agencies when it comes to accepting clients and candidates.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Patience, perseverance, and fortitude.
Regardless of the vocation, candidates need patience, perseverance, and fortitude in today’s hyper-competitive world. Because we live in an “instant gratification” world, developing these skills will set you apart from others who give up so easily.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Social media has played an important part of my success in the past year. Most people won’t “go the extra mile” when it comes to personal branding, and posting on social media can do that. Followers want meaningful posts that they can learn from; so if you give them quality content, it will raise your thought leadership status.
