We recently connected with Alena Zubakina and have shared our conversation below.

Alena, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I’ve always been on the creative side. I love dedicating my time and effort to a project and then seeing the results once it’s finished. Being a part of this process is something I truly cherish.

I was born in Siberia and always dreamed of exploring the world I saw on TV as a kid. When I got my first contract with a modeling agency in Tokyo, I realized I had hit the jackpot. It allowed me to do my favorite things all together.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am an international model with over 15 years of experience, which is almost half of my life! I truly love my job; it is my passion and allows me to be myself and express my creativity to meet the needs of various fashion brands.

I am proud to say that I have worked for some of the biggest names in the industry, including Louis Vuitton, Italian Vogue, Elle, Chanel, Versace, Balenciaga, and many more. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, filled with countless memorable experiences and personal growth. I am grateful for every opportunity and excited for the many adventures that lie ahead.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey as a fashion model are curiosity, creativity, and self-esteem.

Curiosity: Always being eager to learn and explore new things has opened many doors for me. It’s essential to stay curious about the world, the industry, and even about yourself. This curiosity has driven me to continuously improve and adapt.

Creativity: In the fashion industry, creativity is key. It allows you to bring something unique to every project. Being creative helps you stand out and adds depth to your work, making it memorable and impactful.

Self-esteem: Having confidence in yourself and your abilities is crucial. The modeling industry can be tough, and maintaining a strong sense of self-worth helps you navigate challenges and stay true to who you are.

For those early in their journey, I advise nurturing these qualities. Stay curious and never stop learning. Cultivate your creativity by experimenting and pushing boundaries. And most importantly, build and maintain your self-esteem, believing in your unique value and potential.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I find that engaging in sports and spending time in nature really helps me. Physical activity is a great way to release stress and clear my mind. It allows me to refocus and regain my balance.

Spending time in nature is equally important for me. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a hike or simply sitting by the ocean, being in natural surroundings helps me reconnect with myself and find peace.

My advice for anyone feeling overwhelmed is to find activities that help you to recharge. Physical exercise and spending time outdoors can be incredibly beneficial for both your mental and physical well-being.
