Meet LaBrittney Jackson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful LaBrittney Jackson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi LaBrittney, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

My purpose became clear during a challenging phase of my life when I felt lost and disconnected from myself. In that period of adversity, I turned to God for guidance and embarked on a journey of self-discovery. Despite not knowing what truly made me happy or how to navigate this new chapter, I held onto my passion for helping others, even at my own expense. Learning to support others while also prioritizing my own well-being became crucial.

Through this process, I discovered the power of self-encouragement and resilience. It dawned on me that my purpose lies in using my own journey of strength and perseverance to build a supportive community for women facing similar challenges. This realization has empowered me to share my story, inspire others to overcome obstacles, and create a space where women can thrive and become their best selves.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I have always had a passion for helping others and have been blessed with the gift of being able to see people beyond their flaws. My passion to serve is what led me to my career in child welfare as well as my journey of being an empowerment advocate.

I am a dedicated Child Welfare Consultant with over 11 years of experience in the field, I have a deep passion for supporting children and families. In addition to my daytime career, I am the founder of Empower H.E.R Journey, an organization designed to cultivate a nurturing environment where like-minded women can come together. Our mission is to facilitate discussions on various aspects of womanhood, foster networking opportunities, and forge meaningful relationships while breaking down societal barriers and empowering personal discovery.

What excites me most about Empower H.E.R Journey is witnessing the transformative impact our initiatives have on women. Recently, we launched our inaugural Women’s Empowerment Brunch, which exceeded all expectations. Seeing women unite with a shared goal to grow and embrace their true selves has fueled our ambition to expand beyond this event. We have exciting plans in store for this summer, including new launches aimed at reaching women globally.

At Empower H.E.R Journey, our ultimate goal is to empower women worldwide to discover their identity, operate in their purpose, and embrace their authenticity UNAPPOLOGETICALLY! We believe in fostering healing, evolution, and the restoration of women’s identities.

My ultimate goal is to see all women GLOWING AND GROWING and walking in their purpose! I want women to know they are the Aestetic!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Reflecting on my journey, if I had to choose the most impactful qualities would be:

Firstly, understanding that healing is a journey, not a destination, has been crucial. I’ve learned to navigate the bumps along the way with patience and perseverance.

Secondly, resilience has played a significant role. My ability to bounce back from setbacks and challenges has kept me moving forward, no matter the obstacles.

Lastly, being intentional about self-care and personal growth has been transformative. Prioritizing myself has allowed me to nurture my well-being and embrace new opportunities for healing and empowerment.

For those early in their journey, I offer this advice:

Show Yourself Grace: Understand that mistakes are part of growth. Celebrate your achievements, big and small, and recognize your progress along the way.

Power Through Adversity: Challenges will come, but facing them head-on builds resilience. Remember, you may bend, but you won’t break. Each challenge you overcome strengthens your resilience for the future.

Be Intentional About Yourself: Invest time and effort in your own well-being and personal development. When you prioritize yourself, you lay the foundation for personal growth and empowerment.

Ultimately, embracing these qualities and practices has empowered me to bloom into a new season of healing and fulfillment in my life and that is my goal for everyone to “bloom no matter where they are planted.”

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Currently, my primary challenge is navigating through success without succumbing to imposter syndrome, which threatens to overshadow the blessings I’ve received in both my personal and professional life. Additionally, I’m striving to ensure that current trials and tribulations do not derail me from fulfilling my purpose.

To overcome this challenge, I’m taking proactive steps. Firstly, I acknowledge and address my feelings of doubt and insecurity. Secondly, I maintain my trust in God, seeking guidance and strength in faith. Thirdly, I actively replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations, reminding myself of my capabilities and worthiness. By reinforcing the belief that I can and will walk confidently in my purpose, I am gradually overcoming imposter syndrome and staying focused on my journey of personal and professional fulfillment.

I want people to see the glow radiating from me. The glow that only comes from Self Love because Self Love is the best Love!
