Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ammarra & Amber Berry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ammarra & Amber, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Our work ethic comes from our parents and grandparents. We were raised to always lead with persistence, even when things become challenging or the end goal does not appear to be within reach. We’ve always had a strong conviction to want to succeed.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My twin sister and I created Twinflames by Ammber during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Amber is a registered nurse. Myself (Ammarra): I am an administrative assistant IV for a local school district. We both hold degrees from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. Sis and I have always been creative ever since we were little kids. We began making candles when the world shut down, and we tried to find something to do to occupy our time. We’ve always loved candles and wax melts, and when we were unable to get smell goods from our local bath and body works, we decided to make our own in “the lab”. We’ve been rocking and rolling ever since.

We occasionally are vendors at 9 Mile Garden in Affton, MO.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

During the journey, we’ve included our kids. Amber and I both have daughters, and they are very involved in smelling new scents and the creation process of Twinflames by AmmBer. They are why we do what we do. Our advice for people wanting to start on their entrepreneurship journey is to “walk slow and drink plenty of cold water,” meaning don’t rush into anything without thinking it through.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

Networking and getting our name out is our biggest challenge. We are also competing with other candle enthusiasts.
