Meet Destiny Lavish

We were lucky to catch up with Destiny Lavish recently and have shared our conversation below.

Destiny , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

By thinking outside the box on what others won’t do, haven’t done, or something you rarely see. Being the trendsetter instead of following trends in the ultimate goal. Standing out when everyone else is standing in. Do too much when they are doing too little. Be yourself and bring out that inner child you’ve been hiding. Shine in everything you do and your creativity will show.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

In 2018, is when I completed High School in Conway, AR, and moved to Memphis to start college at the LeMoyne-Owen. Being new here into the state was different for me, but it didn’t take long for me to make friends because of my personality and my fashion. A lot of my college peers loved my style and said how different it was from a lot of people they’d met. In 2019, I opened Des Beautyville LLC my clothing brand to bring me sense of style to Memphis. I was shown so much love with my brand and saw men and women dressing in my clothing. This is the year I decided to get serious with my fashion by posting my outfits for the day on social media. Posting my style on social media gave me recognition from people in different states and also out of the country like Africa, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.

In 2020, I decided to become an influencer since I’ve been noticed by many and influenced by many. I started getting a lot of requests from multiple people to style them personally, so I began virtually styling for free. The year 2021 changed my life with fashion all the way to this point in my life. I’m a brand ambassador for many companies in fashion, skincare, and events. I gain recognition from big brands such as Fashion Nova, Revolve, Jurllyshe, Grass Fields, Journeys, etc. I also gain recognition from big artists here in the USA and in Africa. I now have a virtual styling business called “Styled by NEVIOR” and is the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m a content creator on Instagram and TikTok and I have a great support team I love so much! What’s most exciting about all of this is how far I came and the passion I have for influencing others. It’s a blessing to see smiles on faces knowing I’ve done what needed to be done.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The words that impact my journey are confidence, creativity, and networking. Without these skills I wouldn’t be Destiny Lavish. To stand out in the crowd these traits are good to have because not everyone can achieve them. If it’s something you want to go for, just do it! You know what skills you have to follow your path. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t because you can!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I would love to collaborate with any actors, fashion stylist, hair stylist, content creators, comedians, anyone in beauty/fashion, etc. If you have any products or creativeness you would love to showcase, collab with me and send me your info to my email. For collaboration or promo my email is [email protected]!
