We were lucky to catch up with Jeffrey Preuss recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeffrey, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
When I look around, the vision of possibilities overrides the existing conditions. It is then my job to share that vision with others. If the ideas are mutual, we will together form a plan to see it so. The Potential always brings optimism with it by nature.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a Landscape Architect from the Midwest, I have learned to appreciate and understand the delicate nature of the natural environment. From Denver to Kansas City, I listen to the land before starting the design process. With a clear mind, you can hear it speak about the opportunities and constraints unique to each parcel of land. The future designs are meant to enhance the natural beauty found everywhere around us. These designs are represented in traditional watercolor washes and experienced in Virtual Reality, before any dirt is ever moved. Combing old and new technology gives everyone the best possible experience.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creativity expressed with a pencil is the root of all thought. Technical knowledge is fundamental to becoming a professional. Work Ethic brings dreams into reality.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
As a sole proprietor, finding others to collaborate with is absolutely essential. Finding competent and creative designers, architects, and craftsmen who have a respect for the traditions of the past is a challenge. These personalities tend to attract creatives who focus on themselves and singular design traits that simply do not weave into the fabric of a design. In anycase, it is always good to talk and learn. Sometimes we may only talk for a year, but when an opportunity presents itself, one must be ready to move forward in confidence.
