Meet Sasha Lewis

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sasha Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sasha, we sincerely appreciate you joining us today and agreeing to talk about some very personal topics. So, to kick things off, let’s talk about a tough one – divorce. Can you talk to us about how you overcame divorce?
Getting divorced as a 28-year-old with a 10-month-old definitely was not on my To-Do List, but it happened.

Personally divorce was one of the more liberating moments in my life. I genuinely feel like that was the catalyst for finding myself again.

Divorce of course isn’t easy, especially as a single parent. It was an incredibly challenging time, and still is, trying to reclaim my independence while being a full-time provider to a child with special needs.

What kept me optimistic even in the very dark times, was knowing that I got to wake up and choose my life that day. How I wanted it to feel and look like. I no longer had to run things by someone and it felt good.

It was a freedom and coming to self that I am blessed to have been able to experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My career started right after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. I was gunning for Bergdorf Goodman as a window display designer.

While I never made it to NYC, I did have a good run designing retail spaces across the country and predominately in SoCal.

I got burnt out and I didn’t feel aligned in my purpose anymore which prompted me to start freelancing in marketing which ultimately led me to start my own agency years later in addition to recently launching a publication.

INICIO Creative Agency is built for creative entrepreneurs looking to focus on three things: Impact, Innovation, and Influence.

How often do you see someone’s brand and it feels like a duplicate of another? Our commitment to creating custom brands through brand strategy, web design, brand + packaging design, and creative direction so we can break the mundane and monotonous visuals we see on daily and instead, produce powerful brands that speak for themselves.

Our creative agency helps entrepreneurs figure out their place in their industry and how they can have greater impact on those who need it, how they can become more innovative in their approaches, and how to rightfully influence their audiences through inspired integrity.

Beyond 12 years experience, what sets us apart is our dedication to helping facilitate honest and good change in the world. There is so much emphasis on surface-level connection but we dig deeper. We empower and create platforms for the talented, the creative and the ones whose voices deserve to be heard.

In addition, I recently launched DTLD Magazine which is a business magazine for millennial entrepreneurs and creatives who are looking for expert business advice, trends, tips, and inspiration.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Understand buyer types, the buyer journey, and most importantly brand messaging ESPECIALLY with leveraging a personal brand!

Personal brands are major for driving interest into your bread + butter business. Build your community by leveraging your unique edge.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
ABSOLUTELY! Currently, we are featuring creatives and entrepreneurs in DTLD Magazine. Would love to get some new faces in the magazine and introduce them to the world!
