We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Seth Beamer. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Seth below.
Hi Seth, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
This question is honestly one that I still work on constantly. But all I can say is… DO IT! Whatever that thing is that you’re scared to do, do it. Because let’s face it, at the end of the day nobody cares, and that’s very freeing! Everybody is too caught up in what they think of themselves to care about what they think of you – so there’s really nothing to be scared of. Now I will say that that is much easier said than done, but I believe that this level of confidence only stems from repetition. The more you push past your own worries, the easier life becomes. Whether that’s chasing your dreams or getting the simplest tasks done for the day 🙂

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a full time artist & musician, as well as a creative filmmaker. I write songs about the trials of life and how they are overcome. And as I make social media content for myself, I help others in the greater Denver scene create content for their platforms as well. I’ve been playing music ever since I was a kid, I’ve toured the country, I’ve done the rock ‘n roll thing… AND I’M NOT DONE YET!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The 3 areas of knowledge… wow that’s a toughy. I’d have to say
Music theory – Sure, a lot of musicians can get away with writing songs without any understanding of theory, but it’s not about that. It’s about knowing your options. Music theory opens up so many pathways that when I get stuck, I know what my options are and where to go!
Human relations – I think this goes without saying, but the people you meet and the relationships you make have a lot to do with where you end up in this creative career. While you don’t need to focus too much on this (you’ll end up where you need to be. Birds of a feather, y’know?) I do think it’s worth mentioning that knowing how to give a good handshake goes a long way.
How to work a camera – We live in the social media age. If you aren’t creating content, you aren’t going to be a superstar. I just so happen to love cameras and have turned into another half of my career. But no matter who you are, at the very least you should know how to use one.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Jesus Christ. Plain and simple, He’s helped me get through most things in life (whether I was paying attention or not). And that relationship only continues to grow. I’m excited to see what else he pulls me through.
