Meet Diana Zuniga

 

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diana Zuniga. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Diana, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my self-esteem and confidence through a mix of fitness, self-discovery, and persistence. My journey began when I started going to the gym regularly. Working out helped me feel stronger and more capable. Seeing progress in my physical strength made me feel more confident, and by consistently showing up at the gym, I proved to myself that I could stick to a goal and achieve it.

In addition to fitness, I dedicated a lot of time to understanding myself better. Over the past ten years, I took many courses and attended therapy sessions. These experiences helped me heal from past traumas and learn why I am the way I am. Listening to podcasts about self-improvement and mental health also gave me new ideas and perspectives on how to improve my life.

Persistence played a significant role in building my confidence. No matter how hard things got, I kept showing up for myself. This persistence helped me build confidence over time. As a single mother, I achieved many of my goals on my own, which taught me that I am strong and capable.

By combining fitness, self-discovery, and persistence, I gradually built my self-esteem and confidence. Fitness played a big role, but so did understanding myself and being persistent in my efforts.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a wellness and empowerment coach with a deep passion for helping women overcome low self-esteem and build confidence through fitness. For the past three years, I have been training clients from my home gym, which has allowed me to create a personalized and supportive environment for each individual. What excites me most about my work is seeing the transformation in my clients, not just physically but also in their mindset and confidence.

Currently, I am expanding my services to offer a comprehensive wellness package that focuses on the body, mind, and spirit. This new program will include personalized fitness plans, weekly coaching calls to work on mindset and self-concept, and weekly check-in progress pictures. I aim to keep my clients accountable and help them with their nutrition as well, creating a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Two months ago, I also got certified as a spiritual life coach, which has further enriched my approach to wellness. Although I prefer to be known as a wellness and empowerment coach, this certification allows me to integrate spiritual and mental well-being into my coaching.

Although I haven’t officially launched this program yet, I am excited about the opportunity to reach more women and empower them to achieve their goals. I understand the struggle with self-doubt and imposter syndrome, as I have experienced it myself. However, I believe in the importance of pushing through these fears and showing women that they are capable of so much more than they realize.

My goal is to inspire and empower women to pursue their dreams, regardless of the obstacles they face. I want to help them build the confidence to go after everything they want in life, despite any fears they may have. This interview is a wonderful opportunity for me to share my vision and announce the upcoming launch of my online coaching program.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities and skills that have been most impactful in my journey are perseverance, self-awareness, and continuous learning. Perseverance has been crucial in overcoming challenges and staying committed to my goals, even during tough times. Developing self-awareness has helped me learn who I am, build self-love, and foster a good relationship with myself. This deep understanding of my strengths and weaknesses has allowed me to make informed decisions about my growth. Continuous learning, through courses, therapy, and consuming valuable content, has consistently expanded my knowledge and skills. For those early in their journey, I advise embracing these qualities: persevere through challenges, develop a strong sense of self-awareness, and commit to continuous learning. These foundations will help you overcome obstacles and empower you to achieve your goals and become the best version of yourself.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been learning to stop being a people pleaser and staying true to who I am and my values. I used to put others before myself, struggled to set boundaries, and constantly sought external validation. This behavior left me feeling drained and unfulfilled. I made it a goal this year to focus on my own needs and to honor my values without feeling guilty.

It has been a journey of learning little by little, but I can finally say I feel free. I no longer feel the need to people please, and I don’t feel guilty about setting boundaries or saying no. This shift has allowed me to build a healthier relationship with myself and to prioritize my well-being. I feel more confident, empowered, and true to myself than ever before. I hope my journey can inspire others to embrace their own path of self-discovery and empowerment.
