Meet Joseph Barra

We recently connected with Joseph Barra and have shared our conversation below.

Joseph, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

It comes from my faith, and truly believing in myself. Sadly most people have a poor opinion of themselves. They think themselves so lowly and that they are not enough. When you’re secure in who you are, recognize your worth and take into account that you yourself are able to achieve great things, how can you not be optimistic. Also after reading the bible, it shows time and time again that every failure and every obstacle can be taken 1 of 2 ways. You can wallow in self pity, or realize that this is a test to level you up. and when you pass those tests, you realize you can handle so much more. Every day is a gift, every day is a blessing. Count your blessings and realize there’s so much more to achieve.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As this article is bring written, I have booked a huge Commercial in New York, and I have two feature films being released this year. This isn’t a brag, this is just proof that hard work and sacrifice pay’s off. Im excited to see the doors that open this year in this field. Also I take pride in my business. I am the North East Territory Manager for Allmax Supplements and its the best career you can ask for. Its my privilege to bring the best supplements to different stores and gym’s all across the Northeast. There’s so many aspects to love. I mean getting the best supplements delivered to my door is a huge perk, but I’m meeting so many phenomenal people in the fitness industry. Im cultivating fantastic relationships with so many different people from all walks of life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Quality Number 1: Faith. Having faith and believing in better things to come was essential to keep me going. The bible says God cant work without faith. No matter where in life you’re at, have faith!

Quality Number 2: Know your strengths. I got to where Im at because I know my strengths. I am excellent with people, love engaging with people, I love performing, and I love helping people. I used these skills to get to where Im at today and I cannot wait to see what the next couple of years bring

Quality number 3. Dont Give Up. Life is full of Mountains and Valleys. You can be doing exceptional one day, then the next day the bottom falls out and you’re lost. Ive been there, but trust me when I tell you, keep going. There were so many times I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. But your Valley will always come before your next mountain. The deeper the valley, the higher the mountain. Remember your purpose, remember your worth, know that everything happen’s for a reason, and keep going.

Some of the best advice I can give is find your why. figure out your purpose. Work on yourself more then your job and then do your purpose. And don’t rush it. Take your time and really figure it out.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

In my 31 years of life, there has been so many people that have been such a great influence on me. But as I get older and more mature, the one person who had the most impact is Jesus Christ. Now hear me out before you Judge. Im not preaching religion, Im preaching a way of life. The more I read about Jesus and what he did, He forgave his enemies. He loved unconditionally. He prayed and had faith. He treated everyone with kindness, regardless of what your background, race or culture was. To live a more Christ like life is challenging, but so rewarding. Taking on life with a Christ like mind and spirit had been the best guidance and influence of my life, and I challenge anyone to do it. Living this way will only positively influence your life.
