Meet Karen Cerezo

We recently connected with Karen Cerezo and have shared our conversation below.

Karen, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Finding my purpose has been a fun journey of self-discovery and growth. Once my children were older, the “free time” allowed me to do a little reflecting on my passions and interests, asking myself what activities truly light me up and give me joy. I soon realized that helping women in midlife navigate their wellness journey was calling me!! Embracing new experiences and continually learning has been crucial for this self growth, as it allows me to evolve and adapt my purpose. The support of my family has helped me align my actions with my core values. Through authenticity and empowering others, I have found a career that provides me a deep sense of fulfillment. I’ve learned to be patient with myself, understanding that purpose can change and grow over time. Ultimately, it’s about living a life that feels true to who I am and positively impacts others.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I run an outdoor fitness group and coaching program specifically designed for women in midlife, focusing on wellness, mindset, and hormone health. What excites me most about my work is witnessing the incredible transformations these women undergo, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them regain confidence, energy, and a zest for life. My brand is all about authenticity, humor, and creating a supportive community where women can thrive during menopause and beyond.

One of the most special aspects of my work is our monthly coaching subscription, The Coaching Corner. Each month, we dive into different themes that address common challenges faced by midlife women. For example, this month’s theme is ‘Ditching the Comparison Trap,’ where we focus on building self-confidence and embracing individual beauty. The Coaching Corner provides practical tools, engaging content, and a community of like-minded women, making the journey through midlife an empowering and enjoyable experience.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, empathy, and continuous learning.

Resilience has helped me navigate the ups and downs of building a brand and supporting women in midlife. It’s crucial to stay focused on your goals, even when challenges arise. For those starting out, I recommend embracing setbacks as learning opportunities and keeping a positive mindset.

Empathy allows me to connect deeply with the women I coach, understanding their struggles and celebrating their victories. To develop this, actively listen to others, seek to understand their perspectives, and practice compassion in your daily interactions.

Continuous Learning has been essential in staying informed about the latest in wellness, fitness, and hormone health. For anyone early in their journey, prioritize ongoing education. Attend workshops, read extensively, and stay curious. This not only enhances your expertise but also keeps you adaptable in a constantly evolving field.

By focusing on these qualities, you can build a solid foundation for a fulfilling and impactful journey.
