We recently connected with Elvia & Alex Garcia and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elvia & Alex, so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?
Usually as a creative mind, we all end up in the same square where we don’t see anything else than a wall that doesn’t let us create anything else that is being created already and with that frustration comes.
When you start in the business you feel that you are done and everything it’s done for you as artist, but eventually you realize that is just an episode that everyone experiences more than once and you understand that as a creative artist you’ll find inspiration without looking and you’ll get inspired by the simplest things around you.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
We are a metal taco spot base in Hell Sereno Ca. Southeast Los Angeles, we love to cook as much we love to eat and find unique places around us to experience something different and out of the ordinary,
For the same reason we created Evil Cooks a place where you can eat traditional recipes with a modern touch up but most importantly a dash of evilness and like we liked to say the devil is in the details. A side of doing delicious street food we also love to create amazing experiences of “Fine Dining on the streets” where we serve a 7 course menu call the KAMIKAZE a play of the Omakase where you eat whatever the chef cooks for you, We call it the KAMIKAZE because we like to say that it’s like a suicidal menu since we created the menu the day of with all our experience and years accumulated.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 best qualities that anyone in the world regardless of whatever they do is to be patient, have passion and be persistent
This 3 things would help you to get to the place that you ambition
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
The industry of the kitchen is very damaging and it takes so much from you ether is time, labor, mental strength and sometimes you would feel overwhelmed and ready to drop the towel, but something that is really important is to take time to stop what you are doing and breathe and think and recharge and realize that you should be thankful for what you are done because is a great thing that you have accomplished such things as taking the risk to be there and doing what you love
