Meet Stacy Brown

We recently connected with Stacy Brown and have shared our conversation below.

Stacy, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Impostor syndrome is something I think every small business owner experiences. When I first got into the wedding industry I struggled with this a lot. Although I’ve had tons of experience planning events/conferences and even had hands on wedding planning experience, I still felt like I was an imposter in my field. I was inferior to those who had been in the industry years before I had. For me It just took time to develop my craft and I also had to be extremely resilient. You have to feed yourself positive affirmations and always give yourself credit for the amazing job that you’re doing. All of the greats started out as a beginner. Becoming an expert takes time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the CEO/Lead Planner & Designer of Style Luxe Weddings. Style Luxe is a full service wedding planning and design company. Our goal is to help our clients plan/execute their dream wedding day in a stylish & authentic way. We’re all about creating an experience for our clients and providing a service that feels enjoyable.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Resilience, Consistency and organization are the 3 qualities that helped me grow within the wedding industry. Resilience because being a wedding planner can be tough. You’ll have days that aren’t so fun but you have to push through and remember why you started. Consistency is important because you have clients who are relying on you to always show up and keep your word. Lastly, organization is key with wedding planning. There is so much information and you need to have systems in place to keep the show running.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

Our biggest area of improvement has been attracting our ideal clients and couples who align with the future of Style Luxe Weddings.
