Meet Amanda Riley Ferree

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amanda Riley Ferree a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Amanda Riley, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
this is actually a great place to start because this is where LOAR is really making our next pivot towards.. Guiding high school and college students on how to experience Confidence.

Self-Esteem really had a massive turn after my yoga certification when i came back, lost 40 lbs from eating more and working out less. the biggest difference, meditating and shifting my perspective and mindset,.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I created a mobile app and platform called LOAR with the mission and life’s commitment to transforming and inspiring younger generations to fulfilling any goals and living the life of their dreams with confidence and ease.

LOAR was created 5 years ago when i realized that having a ’10 year plan’ or vision for the future is’nt as common as i had thought.. that there is a lot of self doubt, fear and loneliness in youth because they don’t necessarily have structures to support them in what that truly want in life.

What lights me up about this company is our commitment to being a WORLDWIDE contribution. That the legacy i want to leave with the world – to be of service and contribute.

We are available on the app store now and are currently researching for the new product from high school and college students by hosting workshops and events in summer camps and come fall, school in LA county. If you follow us on social, we will be ;launching our newsletter at the end of august for all upcoming events and ways to contribute!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Great questions:

In terms of business: research and find proof on concept. Get as many people as you can to say they would buy your product before you build.

Collaborate with others: ” Self-made is a myth – It takes an army to build success.” – Tomm Voss LOAR head coach. Dont do it on your own. Build a team and use collaboration to expand and get creative.

and for personal experience: overcoming multiple eating disorders, self doubt and the passing of my dad all came from the power and mastery of mind. Noticing subconscious and conscious and practicing awareness to challenge and rewire my brain chemistry. Sounds easier than it is… this took 6 weeks in India to even comprehend what that means.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents are the reason i am where i did today.

My dad was my manager throughout high school and put in a million hours of driving just for me to get to work and achieve my goals of being a model. He taught me the 3 P’s. Prefessional. Polite. Punctual. My dad was military and taught me how i could apply the basics to business and overall success.

My mom has supported EVERYTHING i have ever wanted to do. She never told me i couldn’t do something and always encouraged me to run with the things i loved. She never judges me even when i do something “off character” or mess up.. shes always there. always supportive. and the first person i call. Everytime.
