Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yuvraj Singh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Yuvraj , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome has been a significant part of my journey. It’s something many artists and professionals face, especially when entering a highly competitive field like music production. For me, the key was a combination of self-reflection, seeking feedback, and continuous learning.
At first, I often doubted my skills and felt like I didn’t belong among other talented musicians and producers. However, I knew that I still had a lot to learn which always kept me motivated. Self-reflection was the first step. I took time to acknowledge my achievements and remind myself of the hard work and dedication that got me to where I am.
Seeking feedback from trusted peers and mentors also played a crucial role. By sharing my work and getting constructive criticism, I gained valuable insights and reassurance. Hearing positive feedback from respected individuals in the industry helped build my confidence and affirmed that I was on the right path.
Continuous learning has been another essential aspect. I committed to constantly improving my skills and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in music production. This not only enhanced my technical abilities but also reinforced my belief in my capabilities.
Connecting with other artists who experienced similar feelings was also helpful. Knowing that imposter syndrome is a common challenge made it easier to deal with. We supported each other, shared our experiences, and encouraged one another to keep pushing forward.
Overall, overcoming imposter syndrome has been about believing in myself, embracing my journey, and continuously striving for growth. For anyone facing similar feelings, I would say: trust in your abilities, seek support from your community, and keep learning. Remember, everyone has unique strengths and perspectives to offer, and your contributions are valuable.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Yuvraj Singh, also known by my artist name, CurioCity. I’m a music producer, audio engineer, sound designer, and re-recording mixer with a passion for creating unique and immersive audio experiences. My journey into the world of music began in middle school when I first discovered electronic music. Over the years, this passion grew, leading me to pursue a degree at Berklee College of Music, where I recently graduated.
Professionally, I focus on producing and engineering tracks across a diverse range of genres, including dance, house, dubstep, color bass, future bass, electronic pop, latin and R&B. Some of my notable tracks include “Together” and “Can’t You See,” which are available on platforms like YouTube and Spotify. My work has been recognized in publications such as Rolling Stone India and Shoutout LA.
What excites me most about my work is the ability to blend technical precision with creative expression. Whether I’m working on my own music or collaborating with others, I aim to push the boundaries of sound design and production. One of my proudest achievements has been my work on the TV series “Loyalty,” where I handled post-production audio engineering, including audio repairing and dialogue cleaning, and mixed the series in 5.1 surround sound for theaters.
Currently, I’m working on an intense cinematic track fused with electronic music with an intense intro and ending, which I can’t wait to share with my audience. Additionally, I’ve recently launched my first project on Upwork, offering professional audio editing, repair, and mixing services. This new venture allows me to connect with clients globally and help them achieve the high-quality sound they desire for their projects.
For those interested in following my journey, you can find me on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and SoundCloud, under the handle @music_curiocity, or on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
Overall, my goal is to continue evolving as an artist and engineer, exploring new sonic landscapes, and contributing to the world of music in meaningful ways.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, three qualities and skills have been most impactful: perseverance, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Perseverance has been crucial. The music industry is challenging and competitive, and there have been times when things didn’t go as planned or when I faced setbacks. It was my perseverance that helped me push through these tough times and stay committed to my goals. For those early in their journey, I would say that setbacks are a part of the process. Stay focused on your passion, and don’t be discouraged by obstacles. Keep learning and improving, and your persistence will pay off.
Technical proficiency is another key factor. Having a strong grasp of the technical aspects of music production, including sound design, mixing, and mastering, has been essential for bringing my creative visions to life with precision and quality. To those starting out, I recommend investing time in learning and mastering your tools. Whether it’s a digital audio workstation (DAW) like Pro Tools or Logic Pro X, or specific plugins for sound design and mixing, becoming proficient in these will significantly enhance your ability to produce professional-quality music.
Lastly, the ability to collaborate has been incredibly impactful. Collaborating with other artists, like my recent project with Reeshabh, an amazing Indian classical singer, has expanded my creative horizons and introduced me to new perspectives and techniques. Collaboration often leads to innovation and unique soundscapes that wouldn’t be possible alone. My advice is to network with other musicians and artists, be open to feedback and different ideas, and seek out collaborative opportunities. These experiences can be incredibly enriching and contribute significantly to your growth as an artist.
Overall, my advice to those early in their journey is to stay dedicated, continually improve your technical skills, and embrace collaborative opportunities. Every experience, whether good or bad, contributes to your growth and development as an artist.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely, I’m always open to new collaborations and partnerships. As a music producer and audio engineer, I thrive on the creative synergy that comes from working with diverse talents. Whether you’re a top-liner, singer, songwriter, fellow producer, or someone with a unique artistic vision, I’d love to explore potential projects together.
I’m particularly interested in collaborating with artists who have a passion for electronic music, but I’m also excited by the idea of blending genres and exploring new sonic landscapes. If you have a strong artistic vision, are open to experimentation, and are committed to creating high-quality music, we could make something amazing together.
Additionally, I’m keen to partner with filmmakers, game developers, and other visual artists who need immersive soundscapes or original scores for their projects. My background in sound design and audio post-production can add a distinctive layer to visual media, enhancing the overall experience.
If you’re interested in collaborating, feel free to reach out to me through my email ([email protected]) or connect with me on social media. I’m excited to hear from like-minded creatives and explore how we can bring our ideas to life together!
