Meet Nick Franklin

We recently connected with Nick Franklin and have shared our conversation below.

Nick, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Honestly, I strongly believe in myself at the end of the day. I realize that your success in whatever you do comes from your output and outlook on yourself. My parents were the first people to instill in me that I could do whatever I chose to do. More so my mom always let me know I can achieve my dreams and complete my goals. At an early age, my mom kept it real with me about life and how a young man should carry himself. I credit my mom for a lot of my growth and confidence. My grandmother who is now deceased also instilled in me that I was a great artist. Before I got back into creating art around 2018 or 2019, just by some of my previous work and accomplishments, my mom told me I was great at what I could do and that I should aim to do it on a higher level. I feel very comfortable with who I am. I know my capabilities. After putting in much time trying to get better at creating, I gained a new mindset that I can do anything I set out to do. I’ve been trying to get to this level or stage I’m at as an artist, creative, entrepreneur, and person for a while. It took a lot of time but I learned a lot about myself during the grind up and till now. I think experience and knowledge of oneself are some things we can gain confidence from.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Hello everyone,
my name is Nick Franklin I am a student, artist, creative, videographer, and entrepreneur. I’ve been creating art and designing things since an early age. I started my clothing and art project brand Mask in 2018. I started making sales and doing pop-ups in early 2019. I started painting canvases during my junior and senior years in high school. I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur for a brief period in 2014. I gained a lot of momentum and attention with my brand Mask around the pandemic between 2020 and 2021. I’ve done a dozen or more pop-ups over the last few years in Griffin, GA. I’ve recently implemented the design and selling of skateboards with Mask. Skateboarding has been one of my passions for over the last decade or more so it was only right to add skateboards as a product for my brand. I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback from customers and supporters. I’m currently a student at Mercer University studying business. One of my goals is to open a physical location shop for Mask in the future.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three things that have been most impactful on my journey are my creativity, confidence, and determination. I’ve always had a more creative outlook when it comes to approaching projects or ideas. I’ve gained more confidence in myself and my ability just by creating and completing small goals. My confidence also comes from my parents instilling in me at a young age that I was capable of achieving any goal or dream I set my mind to. I just want to add you will gain confidence in yourself and abilities the more experience you obtain in whatever field or career in your journey. I am determined to achieve my goals and dreams. Also, I strive to complete my goals and work towards them every week. Sometimes you have to take small steps before you can make big moves. Some advice I have to give to others is not to be scared to think outside the box when thinking of ideas or projects. A wild idea is usually a good start. If you’re a creative or artist just create and don’t worry about the outcome so much. The more time you put into your craft and abilities you’ll gain more confidence. Work at your craft every chance you get. You have to make small wins before the big wins kick in.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am looking to collaborate with other artists, creatives, photographers, and videographers. I am looking to collaborate with canvas painters to create collections to hopefully showcase at galleries or pop-up shows. I want to collaborate with photographers and videographers for content creation and commercials for my brand Mask. Also, I am looking to collaborate with clothing designers and graphic designers to create new and fresh clothing. Anyone interested in collaborating can email me or dm on Instagram.
