Meet Nate Evans

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nate Evans a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

After dealing with depression and suicdial thoughts I found a passion for making music.
Through music I was able to write songs and share them with the world, this not only helped me deal with my issues but gave me a reason to keep fighting and pursure a carrer in music. In hopes to help people and changee the world.
After all music is a universal language, that can touch the hearts of anyone.

Years down the line I also found a passion for making artwork which has gotten me featured in movies, tv, and store locations all over kansas. Iam blessed to have two carrers that alow me to express myself and bring joy to others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I have now been making music for 20 years & artwork for 6.

My music and artwork were just featured in the new movie “Condition of Return” which is streaming now on Amazon.
I have also released my new album “A NEW WAY 2.0”, which is streaming on all music platforms.

My art career took off 6 years ago after I was featrued in starbucks.
I then got a fulltime job selling my art/merchandise at City market.
since then I have been voted “kansas citys #1 Photographer & Graphic Artist”.

I have had my artwork featrued all over Kansas City including several restaurants & corprate offices.
My “Welcome To KC” puzzle is also for sale in stores including “Made in KC”.
Fox 4 news did a live TV interview on my artwork at city market this past fathers day and that was special.

I feel lucky to have a job that doen’t feel like work because I enjoy it so much.
Seeing people wear my merchandise all over Kansas City and the joy it brings to people makes me feel acomplished and blessed.

Later this year I will be relasing new music, music videos, art & merchandise.

My goal is to focus on going bigger and bringing my KC artwork to all business.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three skills that helped me get to where iam today would be

– Never giving up no matter what people say & always knowing there is room for improvement no matter how good you get.

– Finding my niche! The style of music and Artwork I make that best suits myself & the customer.

– Learning from people that are already very sucessful that you can always go bigger, so think bigger!

My advice for anyone following a dream is to except the fact it may take years to reach it, nothing happens over night.
You will learn new skills along the way. Never give up and dont be afraid to ask for advice from others in that profession.
Learning from your mistakes will make you stronger and better at your craft.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

After having my artwork & music featrued in a movie.
Going to the red carpet, and gaining a higher level of success I had only dreamed of.

I now realize even more that never giving up finally paid off.
Regardless of all the people who told me I would never make it.

I have grown to know that after you have reached your dream, You must continue to keep dreaming otherwise you will loose your sense of determination and purpose.

There are so many things you can do with your life that extend your current talents.

Push yourself to learn other traits that will make your current ones shine even brighter!
