Abigail , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by exploring new experiences that push me to learn. My love of travel helps me with this by exposing me to diverse cultures, styles, and trends, which enriches my creative process. In learning Italian, for example, my connection to European fashion has deepened, inspiring innovative approaches in my work.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My journey in fashion and beauty started in my homeland Peru, where I was fascinated by the vibrant culture and textiles. Learning to sew at a young age sparked my passion for fashion and beauty, leading me to hair and makeup school and then fashion school in Florence, Italy. These experiences enriched my perspective on design.

After my studies, I participated in fashion shows and events and even ran a business creating accessories and jewelry. Then over ten years ago, I formally started my entrepreneur journey as a makeup and hair stylist. World travel has significantly influenced my work, allowing my style to reflect a global perspective.

Despite challenges like immigrating and learning a new language, pursuing and growing my talent in the beauty industry has brought immense fulfillment and joy. I’m grateful that I get to share my passion through my business and pass the excitement of uniquely created looks onto my clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three key aspects that have been impactful in my journey are:

1.) Exceptional Customer Service: Understand and exceed client expectations. Be responsive, and go the extra mile to make them feel valued.

2.) Active Listening: Tailor your services to meet each client’s unique needs by being fully present in conversations and asking clarifying questions.

3.) Keeping a Growth Mindset: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and products to offer the best services. Attend industry events, take courses, and follow reputable sources to stay informed.

My ultimate advice for newcomers is to be proactive about your passion. Focus on understanding your customers’ needs and stay curious about their challenges to better develop solutions.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My brother has been invaluable in providing feedback and guidance. As a visionary with his own business, CorporaStudios.com, he taught me I can’t do it all and that to grow it was essential to hire help.

His guidance reshaped my business approach and philosophy, emphasizing the importance of leveraging my strengths and delegating tasks. Collaborating with him on various projects has also been incredibly beneficial. His mentorship has been a cornerstone of my success, helping me stay focused, motivated, and continually improving.
