Meet Natasha Nguyen

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Natasha Nguyen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Natasha, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic was instilled in me during my school years. My teachers emphasized the importance of organization and meeting deadlines, a habit that I diligently maintained by communicating proactively if any issues arose. This discipline carried over into my professional life, both in my roles within companies and in managing my own brand. I rely on detailed to-do lists to ensure I accomplish my tasks and consistently strive for improvement. I value loyalty and believe in the power of teamwork; when my managers and coworkers share this mindset, we can all succeed and shine together.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My blogging journey began with a gentle push from my husband, Richie Anothaisintavee, who encouraged me to explore the world of Yelp reviews. What started as a simple suggestion led to incredible friendships and job opportunities within the company. Initially, I wasn’t exactly excited about social media. However, under the guidance of my former boss and mentor, Ryan Cox, I came to understand the immense impact social media could have on my career.

As time passed, I teamed up with Angela Le, my trusted business partner, to embark on an entrepreneurial journey. Together, we launched a marketing and creative agency, bringing my personal foodie brand, Natasha Nguyen, to life on YouTube and various social media platforms. This journey has been one of self-discovery and growth, as I’ve learned to craft my own videos and establish my personal brand. Although Angela and I have since moved on from the agency, our entrepreneurial spirit remains strong, driving us to explore new ventures and opportunities.

Through collaborations with renowned names such as The Habit Burger Grill, TikTok, Empress Gin 1908, Ziggi’s Coffee, Tastea, and HungryRoot, I’ve been fortunate to expand my horizons and explore new opportunities. The journey continues, filled with excitement and endless possibilities.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I believe the three most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge in my journey were customer service, consistency, and mindset.

Customer Service: I learned the importance of always smiling and being warm, even when dealing with difficult clients. This approach not only helps in building positive relationships but also fosters a supportive and welcoming environment.

Consistency: It’s challenging to remain consistent in what you do. Repetition is crucial, but we must also strive to find ways to improve and surpass our current knowledge and skills. Consistency builds trust and reliability, which are essential for short and long-term success.

Mindset: Having a mindset that embraces risk-taking and accepting failure is vital. Success is not achieved overnight; it requires time, patience, and often, financial investment. It’s important to stay persistent and resilient, understanding that setbacks are part of the journey.

Advice for those early in their journey:
* Develop strong customer service skills by practicing empathy, active listening, and maintaining a positive attitude, even in challenging situations.
* Focus on building consistency by setting small, achievable goals and continually refining your processes to improve over time.
* Cultivate a growth mindset by embracing challenges, learning from failures, and being patient with the process. Understand that every step, whether forward or backward, contributes to your overall growth and success.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My husband has been incredibly supportive in helping me overcome challenges. He consistently stands by me, offering unwavering support and working through problems together. Despite not being savvy with social media, he actively seeks ways to enhance my skills and knowledge. He has been instrumental in helping me break old habits and adopt new ones.
