We recently connected with Tiara Shardé and have shared our conversation below.
Tiara , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Growing up, there was always this yearning to see someone who looked like me, someone who could understand me, in the room. I often found myself searching for the dark skinned woman on the TV screen and if I couldn’t locate her, I always wondered why she wasn’t present. Was her story not important? Didn’t anyone want to see her beautiful face or hear from her in the same way that I did?
Representation truly matters – to the point that, to this day, my search for the chocolate complected woman on the screen still exists. Because of this, I am inspired to present myself in a way that I may not have if I didn’t see such a lack of women who looked like me in the spaces and in the conversations that mattered to me. I show up in the way that I do to honor myself and my voice, and to show women who identify with me that their voices and their stories matter as well.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My journey began in 2018 when I took a leap of faith and relocated to Costa Rica shortly after the passing of my mother. I felt so lost without her and truly needed time to fully grieve over such a major loss in my life. The pull to go deeper into my spirituality, to connect with nature, and to document my experiences became stronger and stronger until I found the courage to share my story by starting a YouTube channel. That was when everything changed.
Women, and even men, from all over the world welcomed and embraced me wanting to know more about this brave and radical woman who gave up everything she owned and moved to the tropics with less than $2,000 in her pocket. They wanted to know how I found the strength to follow spirit and most importantly, if I could help them follow their soul’s call as well.
Coming home from the beach and hopping on Zoom calls with people who resonated with me and my story became a daily experience. I’ve always been intuitive since childhood so it was an easy “yes” when I was asked to provide readings and encouragement sessions to help them with their situation. New opportunities and connections quickly began to open up in ways I had only dreamed of and my life began to change for the better through the lives of the people I was blessed to work with. And that’s when my ministry came into being.
The mystery school was launched in 2020 starting with Embodying the Goddess Within and later, The Pussy Portal – two signature and one of a kind programs that nurture, prepare and accelerate women on their voyage of becoming a divine feminine goddess and priestess using the tools, spiritual practices and strategies that I learned while on my personal journey of embodying who I truly am in this life.
Truly falling in love with my purpose, I became a Certified Master Life Coach with concentrations in Success, Business, Happiness and Spiritual Life Purpose so that I could gain more tools to be better able to assist those who would be called to my work. I’ve since created spiritual workshops, retreats, books, journals, and seminars. I’ve been interviewed by podcasts and news outlets such as the BBC, and have been honored to speak at venues in the U.S. and internationally. One of the highlights of my career was co-managing a wellness center in my hometown, Bridgeport, CT, where I offered countless workshops such as “The Esoteric and Chill Series”, “The Voice of the Divine Feminine Panel Discussion”, “Drumming and Storytelling”, and “Sacred Sexuality” to inspire my inner city community to go deeper and higher into their spirituality and their healing.
Following the call of the Divine, I studied to become an Ordained Minister in 2021 and went on to establish Embodying the Goddess, a transformative nonprofit temple in sacred ministry to the Goddess in 2023. We are a membership based temple and our church service, Sensual Sunday, is open to all those who honor women and the Goddess. We are currently enjoying the community and our satellite temple in Tulum, Mexico in 2024.
One of the most powerful messages that I share with my community is to step out on faith even without fully knowing what your purpose looks like or where you are being led because that is how you truly find out who you are meant to be in this life. And you, my love, are meant to be someone truly spectacular.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’ve learned so much over the years and have gained some valuable tips when it comes to navigating my calling and my brand. I advise those who are first starting out on their journey to generate a healthy dose of zero fucks as to what people think, move in silence until it’s showtime, be a lifetime student in the school of life, and cultivate a solid spiritual practice to keep you grounded and in alignment with your assignment. Yes, there will be people who will critique you and give you unsolicited advice – that is why you have to be solid in who you are and don’t allow yourself to be distracted from your vision.

I would love to partner with angel investors for Embodying the Goddess, a transformative, nonprofit spiritual ministry with international influence here at this pivotal time to honor and restore the path of the Goddess. We are a full service temple providing religious and spiritual marriages, retreats, workshops, comprehensive spiritual curriculum, and other healing services such as prophetic intercession, baptisms, life coaching and deliverance.
To date, Embodying the Goddess has grown a worldwide community of over 15,000 supporters and we’re eager to utilize strategic marketing and strong business partnerships to reach more people. We have a growing online presence along with satellite studios in Nashville, Charleston, and Tulum, Mexico.
