We recently connected with Milli Yon and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Milli, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I got my resilience from believing in God and knowing that if i keep my best foot fourth I pretty much achieve anything. I also get my resilience from being a older sister and wanting to set that bar for my younger siblings as well as younger kids.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have a passion to crochet different attire mostly (mommy and me sets, infant clothes and blankets, summer outfits, etc. I started crocheting to start a new hobby and it totally took my interest and imagination. Ive been able to create things from just a ball of yarn and the results sometimes are even jaw dropping to me lol. In my experience its been therapeutic as well for me as long as i don’t overdo myself. Along with needed trails and errors ive been able to please those I have made things for and continuously grow with the craft. I do alot of my content online at my instagram on my page name Milliyon. The reason I chose to name the creative name Milliyon is because I want to be a household name one day worldwide. In addition I also plan to start mentoring younger kids to learn about different crafts and how they can perfect them. I am working towards getting more acquainted with the business and administrative side of things but in due time I do see myself doing fashion shows and more pop ups as well.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that were more impactful to me so far are going to be time management, accountability, and knowing my worth. I chose those three because without time management too much time can be wasted. Along with accountability if I cant hold myself responsible I can’t expect that from any opposite party I deal with. The last quality being self worth due to me learning that if I dont set certain boundaries within my craft and myself I cant fully be myself which is a large thing for me.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When im overwhelmed I meditate and ground myself. I love to go outside and be in the sun to recharge. I strongly believe in taking a step back for second and redirecting myself to have more of a clear mindset. Also i think it’s important to have someone that you can talk to for a healthy outlet. I believe finding new different things to engage in are really good to do as well when feeling overwhelmed.
