We were lucky to catch up with Marie Pizano recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Marie, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I believe my resilience is derived from a higher energy source, tied to my soul and driven by passion.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Marie Pizano is an example of how you can overcome challenges to live with passion and purpose, and realize your ambitions. Her story
can help empower and motivate others to find their “Yes!”
From her experience as an actor and model, she advanced her skills behind the camera to coproduce several local TV shows in
Memphis, to then create and produce pilots and programming with award-winning film director,
Steven Boyle. Followed by over 15 years of producing and directing award winning films. She is the president of MVP3 Foundation; A
non profit mission to heal communities through the arts. She is currently in development with a documentary, “A Society
In Crisis: A Family In Divide”, in addition to working with legislators to pass mandated laws to help heal
children and families. She is currently in production of The Walter Bailey Story, a documentary about the civil rights icon from Memphis, TN.
In November 2023, MVP3 Foundation and MVP3 Records launched its first music project
“Simple Song of Freedom” by the Memphis Freedom Band, produced by Mario Monterosso consisting of several internationally known musicians from Memphis and special appearance with Priscilla Presley (former wife of Elvis Presley).
She has been recognized for her charitable work with various awards and served as a board member for organizations such as the International Children’s Foundation and Women’s Foundation for Greater Memphis. Her efforts also include creating the ‘Rock for Hope’ concert to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and co-founding the Tiara Tea Society. She advocates for those affected by domestic violence and serves as a spokesperson for the cause.
Most importantly, her biggest job and joy is being the proud mom of two, who are now young
adults. She hopes to set the example for her children and continue her mother’s legacy of
helping other children and families.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Determination, passion and residence is the three that have helped me along my journey.
Living with truth and integrity, maintaining mind-body-soul balance, and recognizing one’s worth is crucial. Embrace each day as an opportunity to find your ‘yes’.
Believe in yourself and know that you are enough and have the power within you to create the life your desire.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My family, particularly my grandparents and parents, played a vital role in shaping my life and instilling me with the confidence to overcome any obstacle. Along the way, I’ve had many mentors and experiences that have helped me grow and learn. It’s all part of the journey of self-discovery, and having a strong family foundation is essential to achieving success.
