Meet Nick Hiter

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nick Hiter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Nick , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Understanding that confidence is a skill is a powerful realization because it shifts the focus from seeing confidence as something innate to something that can be developed and improved over time through practice and experience. Here’s how I developed my confidence and self-esteem:

1. Recognizing Confidence as a Skill: By understanding that confidence is a skill, I started to actively work on building it. This could involve setting small goals, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and celebrating my achievements along the way. Each success would reinforce my belief in my abilities, further boosting my confidence.

2. Drawing from Past Successes: Viewing confidence as a memory of past successes means I began to consciously recall and reflect on times when I did well or overcame challenges. This reflection helps in challenging moments, reminding me that I have the capability to succeed.

3. Faith in Christ: My faith played a significant role in my confidence journey. For many, faith provides a foundation of strength, resilience, and belief in oneself because it affirms that you are valued and supported by a higher power. This belief, for me, instilled a deep sense of confidence, purpose, and self-worth.

4. Mirroring Confidence: As my confidence in my abilities grew, it mirrored my faith in Christ. Just as I trusted in Christ’s guidance and support, I started to trust in myself more, knowing that I have the capability to overcome obstacles and achieve my goals.

In summary, by recognizing confidence as a skill and understanding its link to past successes and my faith in Christ, I embarked on a journey of personal growth and self-discovery. This combination of self-awareness, practice, and spiritual grounding can be a powerful catalyst for building lasting confidence and self-esteem.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am the founder of Team Hiter, a business enterprise focused on helping entrepreneurs drive growth.

In my role as the Executive Vice President at RAC Financial, I oversee strategic partnerships for a leading 8-figure payment processing company. My work supports a network of 100+ strategic partners supporting major brands such as Planet Hollywood, Brio, and Buca di Beppo to name a few.

As a thought leader on entrepreneurship myself, my insights have been featured in major media such as CBS, NBC, FOX, The New York Times, and Yahoo to name a few. In addition, as the host of The Hitstreak podcast, I talk weekly with top performers to break down their playbook to success so my audience of over 200 thousand can get to that next level too. I am also the voice of SiriusXM’s “Y’allternative” radio station!

In my prior company, I launched over 150 insurance agencies and other small businesses that generated 100 million dollars in just over 5 years. My latest venture, dubbed “The Hitlab Creative Studios”, is focused on creating a physical space for thought leaders to come together, share, and distribute breakthrough ideas at scale.

Beyond business, I am a husband to Rhiannon, and father to Ethan and Ansleigh. I am a former pro athlete and my wife and I give back regularly to local philanthropic organizations in the Nashville area.

I am extremely excited to be working with my brother in Christ, Antjuan Robinson, the founder of Central Coast Creatives and Eagle Eye Experience, on most everything I’m doing, including everything related to my personal brand. I’m talking every last detail from website, all digital media and marketing assets, even my email signature. It is all getting a MAJOR facelift.

I am extremely excited at the recent partnership between The Hitlab Creative Studios and The Greatness Factory located in the heart of Downtown Nashville, leveraging the amazing vision set force by Coach Michael Burt and the state of the art studio tech and IP of the Hitlab, along the branding powers and strategies of Central Coast Creatives and the performance excellence from Eagle Eye Experience…it’s literally the perfect storm.

I’m extremely excited at the recent partnership with one of my favorite people, Brad Lea, in the space of payment processing to amplify the needs of our fast growing field force, as well as launching my state of the art LightspeedVT system, allowing me to help millions of more people worldwide, with no limitations.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful are:

1. Self-Awareness: Understanding myself—my strengths, weaknesses, values, and aspirations—was crucial. It helped me align my actions with my goals and navigate challenges more effectively. Developing self-awareness involved reflection, seeking feedback from others, and being open to continuous learning about myself.

Advice: Early in your journey, spend time reflecting on your experiences and reactions. Journaling, meditation, or talking with a mentor or trusted friend can help. Seek feedback from others to gain insights into your blind spots and areas for growth. Embrace personal growth as a lifelong journey.

2. Resilience: Building resilience allowed me to bounce back from setbacks, persevere through challenges, and stay focused on my goals. Resilience involves cultivating a positive mindset, managing stress effectively, and learning from failures rather than being discouraged by them.

Advice: Develop resilience by practicing mindfulness or meditation to manage stress. Cultivate a growth mindset—view challenges as opportunities for learning and growth. Build a support network of friends, mentors, or community members who can provide encouragement and perspective during tough times.

3. Skills in Communication and Relationships: Effective communication and strong relationships are essential for success in any endeavor. Developing these skills helped me build rapport, collaborate effectively, and influence others positively.

Advice: Practice active listening to understand others’ perspectives deeply. Learn to express yourself clearly and assertively, while also being empathetic and respectful. Seek opportunities to collaborate on projects or join groups where you can practice teamwork and relationship-building skills. Most importantly, always remember that there are no problems in the history of mankind that were caused by communication being too good. When communication is at elite levels, you are well on your way to success in whatever you do.

In summary, for those early in their journey:

Self-Awareness: Invest time in understanding yourself—your strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals. Use tools like journaling, reflection, and feedback to deepen this understanding.

Resilience: Cultivate a resilient mindset by viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Practice stress management techniques and build a support network to help you navigate setbacks.

Communication and Relationships: Hone your communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. Foster strong relationships by listening actively, communicating clearly, and cultivating empathy.

Remember, personal development is a continuous process. Be patient with yourself, stay open to learning, and celebrate your progress along the way.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

Well first off the book that has played the most important role in my development is the Bible. Past that…”Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki has had a profound impact on my financial mindset and personal development. Here’s how it influenced my development and a few valuable nuggets of wisdom from the book:

1. Impact on Development:

Financial Education: The book emphasizes the importance of financial literacy and education, which prompted me to learn more about money management, investing, and wealth-building strategies.

Mindset Shift: “Rich Dad Poor Dad” challenges conventional beliefs about money and encourages a mindset shift from relying on a job to creating assets and passive income streams.

Entrepreneurial Thinking: It inspired me to think more like an entrepreneur, seeking opportunities to generate income and build wealth outside of traditional employment.

2. Valuable Nuggets of Wisdom:

The Difference Between Assets and Liabilities: Kiyosaki introduces the concept of assets (things that put money in your pocket) versus liabilities (things that take money out of your pocket). This distinction encourages you to prioritize acquiring assets that generate income.

Importance of Financial Independence: The book stresses the importance of achieving financial independence through investments and passive income, rather than relying solely on earned income from a job.

Mindset of Continuous Learning: Kiyosaki promotes lifelong learning and personal development, particularly in the realm of financial education. He encourages readers to seek knowledge and take calculated risks to achieve financial success.

3. Application to Your Development:

Investing and Wealth-Building: “Rich Dad Poor Dad” sparked my interest in investing in assets such as real estate, stocks, or businesses as a means to build wealth and achieve financial freedom.

Financial Discipline: I adopted financial habits such as budgeting, saving, and investing systematically to grow my wealth over time.

Entrepreneurial Mindset: The book encouraged me to explore entrepreneurial ventures or side businesses to diversify my income streams and increase my financial stability.

In summary, “Rich Dad Poor Dad” has played a significant role in shaping my financial mindset, habits, and approach to wealth-building. Its emphasis on financial education, asset acquisition, and entrepreneurial thinking continues to influence my journey towards financial independence and prosperity.
