We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Diego Lopez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Diego below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Diego with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Growing up, my parents instilled in me the value of money and hard work. My parents never skipped a beat when showing me their love for me but they trained me to work diligently and efficiently, while being relentless in the pursuit of my goals. We all have dreams and ambitions, but the knowing and doing gap is what stops us from achieving greatness. My competitive personality challenges me daily, starving my hunger, rising me from my sleep early before the sun, so that I can change the world.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My goal everyday is to help be that glue in my community. I have a voice, I love to use it when bringing up important issues or ideas and freely having them thought about. I have a restaurant business, I use it to create a space where anyone can come and comfortably express their feelings, their art, or their business. My coffee house has the perfect atmosphere to host events, live music, open mics, karaoke, date nights, business meetings, friend hangouts, etc. I am doing whatever I can to blend great food and drinks, great music, and great people together. I look forward to creating more spaces that allow me to continue to live out this dream and also share it with my community.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Commitment: You need to be all in
Support System: If you don’t have one, create one.
Your “Why”: Your purpose or reason for life
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am on a mission to find like-minded, hardworking, driven individuals in the community who are blending art, people, food and drinks, and culture into this amazing community or artistic social ecosystem. It’s almost a haven or sanctuary where anything is possible and all dreams are achievable.
