Meet Lisa Watson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Watson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa below.

Lisa, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

My journey to finding purpose began with a realization: I wasn’t living as my authentic self. I felt constrained by disempowering beliefs and fear-based thinking that had accumulated over the years.

The turning point came when I started paying close attention to myself – my thoughts, emotions, and reactions. It was like holding up a mirror to my inner world. I noticed patterns of self-doubt and limitation that didn’t align with who I truly wanted to be.

One pivotal moment stands out. I was faced with a decision that would significantly impact my career. The ‘safe’ choice was clear, but it didn’t resonate with my heart. As I grappled with this decision, I realized how much fear was driving my choices.

I decided to challenge these fears. I asked myself, ‘What would I do if I weren’t afraid?’ This simple question opened up a world of possibilities I had been blind to before.

From that point on, I committed to a practice of self-reflection and gradual release. Each time I encountered a limiting belief, I would examine it closely. Where did it come from? Was it truly mine, or something I had adopted from others? Did it serve my highest good?

This process wasn’t always easy. There were times when letting go of a long-held belief felt like losing a part of myself. But with each release, I felt lighter, more aligned with my true self.

Over time, I discovered that my purpose wasn’t something I needed to find externally. It was already within me, obscured by layers of societal expectations and self-imposed limitations. As I peeled away these layers, I uncovered a deep sense of purpose rooted in authenticity and self-expression.

Today, I believe that our ultimate purpose is to feel safe in expressing our authentic selves. It’s about shedding the programs and beliefs that keep us from our true path. This journey has taught me that finding purpose isn’t a destination – it’s an ongoing process of aligning with our authentic selves and allowing that authenticity to guide our actions in the world.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m excited to share with you my life’s work: the (re)Parenting method. This innovative approach is designed to help people transform their lives by changing their subconscious programming and the beliefs that shape their current reality.

The (re)Parenting method came to me through years of personal growth, professional experience and working with parents to teach the how to be conscious parents. I realized that our limitations and struggles in parenting, and in life in general, stem from beliefs and patterns established in childhood that have become our subconscious programming. By ‘reparenting’ ourselves, we can rewrite these internal scripts and create profound, lasting change.

What makes this method so powerful is that it’s essentially a hack into our subconscious programming. It allows us to identify and modify the deep-seated beliefs that have been silently directing our lives, often in ways that don’t serve our highest good. Through this process, individuals can break free from limiting patterns and step into their full potential.

I’m thrilled to announce that Morgan James Publishing has recently picked up all four of my books. This includes three children’s books, each tailored for different age groups, focusing on mindfulness and emotional regulation during stressful times. The fourth book, “(re)Parent Yourself,” is for adults looking to dive deep into this transformative process. Expect to see these on shelves within the next 9-12 months!

In addition to the books, I’m developing several online masterclasses that will be available through my website. These classes will provide in-depth guidance on applying the (re)Parenting method in various aspects of life.

For those who want to start their journey right away, I offer a comprehensive newsletter available for free sign-up on my website. When you subscribe, you’ll receive a free download of “9 Powerful Practices to Break Free from the Subconscious Habits That Are Holding You Back from Creating the Life You Desire!” This guide is packed with practical tools to kickstart your personal growth journey.

My newsletters delve deep into crucial topics like inner child work, setting boundaries, the benefits of moving outside your comfort zone, and many other subjects related to the (re)Parenting process. They’re designed to provide ongoing support and inspiration as you work on transforming your life.

I’m passionate about empowering people to create the lives they truly desire. Whether through my books, classes, or newsletters, my goal is to provide the tools and insights needed for profound personal transformation.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on my journey, three key qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge stand out as particularly impactful:

1. Inner Child Work:
Understanding and healing our inner child has been transformative. This work involves recognizing and addressing the unmet needs and unresolved emotions from our childhood that continue to influence our adult lives and learning to have daily dialogues and moments of connection with your inner child.

2. Ability to Move Outside My Comfort Zone:
Embracing discomfort and pushing beyond familiar boundaries has been crucial for growth. It’s in these moments of stretch that we truly evolve and discover our capabilities.

3. Knowledge of Subconscious Programming:
Recognizing that our limitations stem from disempowering programs installed in our subconscious – programs that don’t define us and can be changed, and aren’t our fault or anyone else that they are there. We simply need to take responsibility for them and changing them to more empowering programs and beliefs. This has been liberating and empowering.

For those early in their journey, here’s my advice on developing these areas:

1. To engage in inner child work, start by creating a safe space for self-reflection. Practice self-compassion and try techniques like journaling or visualization to connect with your younger self. Remember, this process takes time and patience.

2. To expand your comfort zone, start small. Set manageable challenges for yourself regularly. It could be as simple as trying a new food or striking up a conversation with a stranger. Celebrate these small wins to build confidence.

3. To understand and change subconscious programming, educate yourself on how beliefs are formed and how they impact our lives. Practice mindfulness to become aware of your thought patterns. Challenge negative self-talk and replace it with empowering affirmations.

Remember, personal growth is a journey, not a destination. Be kind to yourself as you navigate this path. Each step forward, no matter how small, is progress. Surround yourself with supportive people who encourage your growth, and don’t hesitate to seek professional guidance when needed.

Lastly, stay curious and open-minded. Your journey of self-discovery may take unexpected turns, and that’s okay. Embrace the process, and trust that each experience is contributing to your growth and understanding of yourself.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Two books have played a crucial role in my personal and professional development: Joe Dispenza’s ‘Evolve Your Brain’ and Bruce Lipton’s ‘The Biology of Belief’. Together, these works provided me with profound insights into the workings of the brain and our hormonal system.

Reading these books was like receiving a user manual for my own mind and body. They helped me understand that I wasn’t a victim of my thoughts or behaviors, but rather had the power to reshape them.

Some of the most valuable nuggets of wisdom I gained include:

1. Neuroplasticity: Our brains are not fixed but highly adaptable. We can literally rewire our neural pathways through focused attention and repetition. This understanding opened up the possibility of true, lasting change.

2. The power of belief: Our beliefs, often operating at a subconscious level, have a profound impact on our biology and behavior. Changing these beliefs can lead to tangible changes in our lives and even our health.

3. The mind-body connection: Our thoughts and emotions are not separate from our physical bodies but are intricately linked. This holistic view helped me approach personal growth from a more integrated perspective.

4. Conscious evolution: We have the ability to consciously direct our own evolution by changing our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. This idea was empowering and inspiring.

5. The role of the subconscious: Many of our limitations come from subconscious programming, but we can access and change this programming through various techniques.

These insights were transformative for me. They helped me understand that what I was experiencing – my limiting beliefs, habits, and behaviors – were normal given how our brains and bodies are designed. But more importantly, they showed me that I had the power to overcome these limitations.

Understanding the science behind personal transformation gave me a sense of agency and hope. It allowed me to approach my own growth and the growth of my clients from a place of knowledge and empowerment rather than struggle or victimhood.

These books laid the foundation for much of my work, including the (re)Parenting method. They gave me the scientific backing to confidently say that change is possible, that we’re not stuck with our current patterns, and that we have more control over our lives than we might think.

I encourage anyone on a personal growth journey to explore these works. They provide not just inspiration, but a practical understanding of how to create lasting change in our lives.
