Meet Eduardo Cardoso

We were lucky to catch up with Eduardo Cardoso recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Eduardo, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

3 things here; first, thank you, Jesus.
2nd, I’m wrong a lot, and I don’t know everything.

now 3rd,
For a long time, I chased everything the world had to offer. Business, travel, status, power, money…you name it. I became very successful in many areas of my life. Multiple times and in different industries.

Even with all the accomplishments, status, and accolades, the feeling of true purpose was missing, and I couldn’t figure it out.

It wasn’t until I entirely gave myself to Jesus that this feeling of emptiness disappeared.

When I finally decided to give myself to Him, that’s when things truly started to align.

All these years, I was trying to drown myself in accomplishments hoping that it would give me purpose, but it just didn’t work.

Today, my primary purpose is to share that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light.

Everything else is a blessing from Him.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

me me me..me. My favorite topic sometimes!

These days, I try my best to listen more. I love getting to know people and their stories; I feel like people want to be heard.

I’ve heard some of the most amazing stories simply because I decided to give a little wave, a little smile, a little head nod instead of…you know, being consumed by myself, what I “need to do” at that moment.

But….I’ll give you what I usually give people when I meet them in person.

Both of my loving parents are immigrants from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It’s such a BEAUTIFUL place…..my parents gave up everything, even their youth, to raise me in the United States.

I often want to complain about the incredible life God has given me here in America, and then I think about my family’s sacrifices. I mean…..my mom and dad have been working since they were 15 years old. Imagine if they knew their oldest son would choose to become a United States Marine, and then become a working Director, Producer, and Actor.

wow….

My mom and dad are my biggest supporters. My entire family is, really.

Anyways, yes, I was in the Marine Corps. It was one of the best jobs I ever had, man. I was stationed in wonderful 29 Palms, California. 3/7 kilo was my unit. We went on 2 combat deployments to Sangin, Afghanistan….I love those guys, man. I did a lot of growing up there.

It feels like just yesterday, and I could talk about it all day. Somehow, it comes up often. I meet a lot of people, and they’re curious, how a Marine becomes an entertainment professional…hey, I get it.

I’d say the most exciting thing about me is how much I love God these days. How someone like me could love God so much.

Some news tho, a project I worked on with my good friend Trenton Judson is being released on all major streaming platforms soon. You know how it goes, I can’t really give you an exact date, but keep your eyes peeled. The distribution is being worked on right now.

The film is, Bad B*tch, and man does it have everything.

Thanks again, Trenton!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

sheesh….3….things huh….well there ain’t no “hacks or secrets,” but…

If you’re early in your journey, know this.

1. you’re gonna fail so many times before you end up where you’re supposed to be, so don’t quit

2. sometimes you’re gonna need a day job, but never not bet on yourself. If you’re gonna have a day job, please, PLEASE PLEASEEEEE, never be “too tired” to pursue and stay in action with what you truly want.

aka stay grounded, but also keep your head in the sky

3. Pray. pray, pray, pray and pray. no matter who you believe in, PRAY.

That’s a pro tip. Being consistent with my praying and surrounding myself with like-minded people has been a game-changer. Please never change who you are to make others happy. Your people will always find you and love you for you.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

Look…. I’m wrong a lot, and I don’t know everything, but I’m a big reader.

I was always looking for that secret sauce.

That next big idea that would skyrocket me and my business to the moon.

All these self-help books are great, but the bible is a game changer.

I know….I know. Maybe it’s not the book you were hoping for.

Look….I’m not a bible thumper or a Bible expert, so I have my pastor break it down for me in our weekly bible study.

I ask A LOT of questions, and sometimes I don’t agree with the bible, so I just keep my opinions to myself and keep on keeping on, and I do my best.

Last thing and I’ll shut up

I’m a results guy, and if you are too, know that there are results in the Bible.
