Meet Alyssa Simpson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alyssa Simpson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Alyssa, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

I use that as my superpower; I see it as an opportunity to be an example to others of what living with your freak flag flyin’ high can look like!
Authenticity is the highest frequency you can operate at, and when I’m the only one in the room who looks like me, then I feel the true power of being the one who spreads my mission and purpose without comparison.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

With a natural fire for being eccentric, it only made sense that I bring that into my coaching, and it’s been so magical helping other women do the same.
Before I found my one true love of mindset and manifestation, I was slingin’ pasta and wine for a corporate restaurant chain. I worked my way up from server to manager, then dropped out of that world after losing both my parents within 6 months of each other. Something about that trauma lit a fire under my *ss to shine brighter, live louder, and bring my gifts to the world.

I was that “weird” kid who talked too much about the metaphysical stuff, would spend more time in the new age section at Barnes & Noble than the CD section, listened to Art Bell, and watched bootleg alien abduction VHS’s I’d beg my dad to record for me. Mental mindset musings were my ultimate hobby, and thankfully my parents encouraged it even though no one else my age was into that lol. I was always told growing up by teachers, friends, parents, family members, and even strangers that I had an old soul. Not really knowing what that even meant, looking back, I can see it so clearly. I have always been the natural mentor for my friends, family, and peers.

When I dropped out of the corporate world, I dabbled in affiliate marketing, social media management, and digital selling, just trying to find something that stuck, and for two years I ignored my intuition to go into coaching. Do you ever have something so natural to you that you don’t even realize how it can be used in the world? Yeah… that was me with coaching.

Think of all those people on Pinterest who post their recipes and probably think before they post them, “I’m sure everyone knows how to bake an upside-down apple, pineapple, blueberry pound cake only using leftovers from their shepherd’s pie” I know that made you giggle, because it was a good one

Outside of being a mindset and manifestation coach, I am severely in love with animals (specifically cows), would own an interior design business if I wasn’t doing this, I love reality TV, and if you mention just one bravolebrity I can throw you 3 opinions I have on them. I’m a high-class country girl with a large hippy boho heart. I am living out my dream life with my husband in Texas currently studying up on all things homesteading and natural living with some M&Ms in my hand

I have tons of free resources on my website that will help you on your manifestation journey no matter the stage you’re currently in

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Building unshakable confidence, overcoming imposter syndrome, and learning how to stay in my own lane.

Get so delusional when you’re first starting out. If your desires are goals are physically possible for you to have, you don’t need any other reason for them to be yours. When you compare yourself to others journey and timeline you’re shrinking yourself from being the closer to your desires and goals.

Just because there are industry leaders in your industry doesn’t mean there isn’t room for you, too; they are examples of what’s possible for you! But staying in your own lane by focusing on your impact, your vision, your mission, and your desires is how you collapse the time to get to where you wanna go.

Everything thats ever been brought to our reality started off as a thought first. The internet, artwork, movies, books, music, architecture, etc. all started out as a thought, and your thoughts can have an impact on the great things that have happened before us.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

I believe that your strengths are yours for a reason. They aren’t things that everyone has; they’re unique. Knowing your strengths is only part of the puzzle because going all in on them is the other half here. When you get to live your life using all the strengths that were given to you – you’re making the world a better place.
Now as far as investing to improve some of your areas you’re not as strong in goes I have a belief that if its not something that lights you up or brings you joy then thats reason enough to outsource it to someone who does take joy in it.
If you want to learn how to cook because you want those skills sharpened and it truly makes you happy to be in the kitchen – take the classes, invest in some good cookbooks, go all in on sharpening that skill. If you are only wanting to become a better cook because of outside pressure to and you have no desire to be in the kitchen at all – outsource cooking.

In my business, I loathe all things tech. I tried to DIY the tech components of my business, I took courses on learning how to sharpen my tech skills, and all it did was leave me feeling less than, overwhelmed, and frustrated which was energetically blocking me from standing in my strengths of coaching and mentoring. When I finally outsourced my tech stuff, i started to sign clients and have creative flow which i had thought getting good at tech would achieve for me.
