We caught up with the brilliant and insightful CallMeWhoElse a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi CallMeWhoElse, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

I believe experience has extended my generosity. When I first started opportunities was minimal to none. This effected my mental because at the time you had to have a fanbase or money to buy on shows. I moved to Colorado from California with no family, friends or money. It took someone else’s generosity to open a small window for me. Even with that help it was limited. I worked my little window until it turned into a house called New West. In this house I create opportunities for the talented. Instead of expecting them to have a fanbase we find ways to help them grow one. Instead of making them pay to get on a show we find ways to pay them. We are not talking 2 dollars per ticket they sale we are talking 40 to 50 percent of their sales.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Brandon Conner born in Los Angeles California, known professionally as CallMeWhoElse AKA Who Else? I am the founder & leader of the New West Movement. I think my true rise to fame dates back to September 13th 2023 when I released “Hoodoo Summer” followed by my 2nd single “Shut Em Up Shut Em Down”. From there it has been a fun experience creating music and experimenting with my new sound. I released a country hip hop song called “Just 2 Kids” that has expanded my fanbase. This song meant the world to me because it was the first major single I wrote for my wife. Listen to the song because it is a story in itself. I am on track to release a new single with Sage Young called “Go You Go Me” Look forward to my EP Produced by Ty Tones called “WhoVille” should be available this year. Outside of that we throw amazing parties & people always leave with great memories. I respond to most of my messages so please feel free to reach out if you want to party with the west.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Patience, knowledge & love. Sometimes things may seem slow or not happening how you want them to work out. If you keep believing in your self and your journey you will reach your destination. You gain knowledge from experience and studying. Study the industry you are in, make sure you have the fundamentals to be successful. When you move ask your self why, what is the motive? Of course it is money but do not let it be the item that moves you. When you move try moving out of love and the rest will come. Most of the time these things will make a difference. In reality yes it sounds good but unfortunately so many amazing artist has followed somebodies else’s blue print and failed. This industry is about luck & self discovery. Some of us win some of us lose.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am not currently adding anyone on the New West roster, I believe we have a solid team right now, on a positive note our team enjoys working with other companies, leaders and crews, It is tough to explain what I look for in collaborations because I make decisions with my gut and that communicate with my brain. If you come support a show, or inbox me ideas I am always open minded. We are all puzzle pieces and some fit on this particular puzzle and some fit with other boxes. Be a genuine human being, if your’e not I can sense it.
