We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danzel Lor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danzel below.
Danzel, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Everyone is born with talent. You just have to go look for it & see what you can bring out of yourself. Focus on what makes you happy then you’ll find your purpose with a passion. Once you found it, pursue your interests into what feels right within you.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I focus on both cinematography & videography. What’s the difference between the two you might ask? Both relate to capturing footage but captures a different point of perspective. Cinematography is an artistic approach to strategic planning & decision making to shooting a wide variety of surroundings. You have to see the bigger picture to be creative with your imagination like shooting a Michale Bay movie. For videography, it’s really simple as you just focus on shooting with good or natural lighting onto your subjects with vital planning. Understanding the resolution & frame rate recording. The main important objective is knowing the camera you’re using.
What I feel most special about what I do. I believe everything you pursue in should be done with passion & that’s what makes it special. I’m a creative person with a limitless imagination that always keeps my mind running with ideas that I wish with hopes of turning it into a reality.
My brand does a diversity of capturing everything that I can do. I started off on doing automotive videos but decided to keep myself limitless on what I believe I can do with my talent. Just want to capture it all to make a name for myself & my work.
Down the road with hopes that I’ll be able to assemble a full media team with me to help with the weight. Offering services with deals capturing events doing videography & photography as a package.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
All three matter in this journey, you need to have a presentable self-image that acquires quality for both you and your work. The skills & knowledge you need comes from the mindset. It’s all about how creative you can be & what you can find to access. Most of all you have to be open minded & be teachable, there’s always more room to learn to be knowledgeable.
My advice to those new in the same field is that always ask questions, go on YouTube to find your questions answered. If you can’t find it, then you aren’t looking hard enough. Join Facebook media groups that involves whatever you’re doing in like beginner’s photography/videography groups, join every group that you can find & trust that you’ll always find new learnings that’ll help you.
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
We should focus on being more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas that we aren’t strong in. There’s always a small missing piece that we see when we finish a project, which makes us start over again until we see perfection from the eye. I feel owing to the fact that I can do better with what I do & always feel that I’m missing a part to which makes me second guess, but I still confidently push it. Using what I have to do my best with what is around me.
