Meet Rina Brown

 

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rina Brown . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rina below.

Rina , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my faith in God and a major life changing event in my teenage years. In 1998, my parents and I experienced a massive flood. Many of my parents’ properties were destroyed within three hours. We ended up living in the streets with only the clothes on our backs. This event made me realize that nothing lasts forever. We struggled to get back on our feet. My parents were able to recover some of their finances. They were able to rebuild from the ground up. At a young age of seventeen years old, I learned that when you make up your mind and stay focused no matter what the situation or circumstances are, you can always recover and start all over again.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I always focused on high quality products in order to get the best benefits for my pets and for my customers. I take my time with care, passion, love, dedication and hard work to achieve the best results by hand raising my birds. I also like to take my time with my customers. I have my customers interact with their new companion before purchasing. This allows to create a bond and allows the animals to pick and choose the owner and their new companion. I love to see the smile on the customers’ faces and seeing their dreams come true with their new companion. I want my customers to feel love and appreciation. By doing this, I can reassure them that it’s the right pet for them. I also take the time to answer all the questions and give guidance on how to properly care and manage their new family member. My goal has always been to teach people how to take care of the Lord’s creations and give the proper education to prevent animal cruelty. I believe when they have the proper guidance and education about all the requirements and responsibilities, I can put my little grain of sand in the world to prevent this species from going extinct.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

You must open your mind and be determined and put your dreams into action. Don’t hesitate to try new things, something good can come out. You never know how far you can get in life if you don’t put it into action. Be honest with yourself and have compassion for others. Nothing is impossible, God created us with a lot of talent and knowledge. We have to explore our maximum potential by focusing on the things we like and be bold. The good things are not free; it takes time , effort, dedication and discipline. Never give up on your dreams because dreams come true and everything is possible if you set your mind and believe in the Lord. The universe can give you everything and anything if you treat others the way you want to be treated no matter how they treat you.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

My main obstacle is not having a physical store. This makes it difficult for my customers to trust me and to be able to see my whole inventory. I would love for my customer to have a better chance to find the right pet for their lifestyle.
