Meet Devord J. Allen

We were lucky to catch up with Devord J. Allen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Devord J. , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I found my purpose through my spiritual connection. My faith helped me to establish the core values I live by and the principles of servitude through leadership. The core values are (Character, Integrity, and courage). One of the greatest things we can do is be of service to someone less fortunate. Showing empathy and compassion for what another human is experiencing is priceless

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

One of the most important skill’s we must develop is our ability to be teachable: Leadership, Communication,Motivation
These skills have been instrumental in my journey. These skills have allowed me grow socially, emotionally, and develop grit.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, it’s important for me to take proactive steps to manage my stress and regain a sense of control over those external stressors. Here are some strategies to help you navigate overwhelming situations: Take a Break, step away the situation and give yourself some time to breathe. Take a short walk, do a quick meditation, or engage in an activity that helps you relax and clear your mind. Lastly, Prioritize and Organize: Break down your tasks or responsibilities into smaller, more manageable chunks. Prioritize them based on urgency and Importance. This will help you focus. On one task at a time and avoid feeling overwhelmed by a long to-do list. In conclusion, Seek support: reach out to someone you trust, such as a friend , and family member, or mentor. Share your feelings and concerns with them. “Trust in God, Trust in yourself, and trust in the process.”
