Meet Jonn Nicholson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonn Nicholson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jonn, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

I love to be creative and to do things for people that spark joy and inspiration. As someone who works the music scene I put together large charity Jam nights multiple times a year for multiple styles of music from new wave to rock and metal to Halloween classics.

I do these to not only push myself but to also give my performers and audience something to express themselves with.

Outside of that I also cosplay as Captain Jack Sparrow, I’m in a clown troop, and I am the Nashville Krampus. All of these things to give the community multiple outlets to have fun and keep that childlike spark of creativity alive.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the creator and organizer of EYE Productions. That stands for Everything You Ever Productions.

I started this in 2022 after a few years of putting together shows in Nashville. I decided that I wanted to create this production company that would bring the community of people that I am so fortunate to work with a name to promote. As I didn’t want it to be my name that was always plastered on the productions because it’s not just me, it’s those wonderful artists that I work with. They are the ones that make these events a reality.

The name “Everything You Ever” came from multiple different inspirations, but ultimately what it means is the events and products that I’m putting out are hopefully everything that you would ever want them to be. The joy and enrichment that being creative and absorbing art in all forms can be.

Our Motto is “Seeing is Believing”. And that is true when you see someone smiling, dancing, singing along, enjoying what you’re putting out. It means that we have done our job to create something worthwhile to an audience of one or of many.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three things I would pass on to someone about my journey is resilience, patience, and groundedness.

Resilience because sometimes you’re going to run into a lot of problems. Whether that be internal or external factors. You may believe in yourself but not everybody will at first. You have to show them the hard work that you put into things and be able to accept constructive criticism and apply it. I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere if I folded at the first sign of turbulence.

Patience because it’s going to take a while. Sometimes you’ll get instant gratification and sometimes it’s going to take months to a year or more to get things done. Being creative isn’t necessarily the quickest turnaround. Sometimes you need to be prepared to wait and play the long game. But the reward in your patience and hard work will show itself.

The last thing, groundedness. What I mean when I say that is always keep your feet on the ground. Remember where you came from and remember why you’re doing the things that you do. Remember, the ladder that you climb up you’ll have to pass by the same rungs on the way down. So make sure that you keep yourself humbled and learn from your mistakes and be ready for anything.

EYE Productions he’s always looking to collaborate and expand our circle of performers and creators. As we continue to do Jam nights we are always looking for performers to join wants to bring these nights a reality. They are a great opportunity to support Charities as well as network with people that you might not have gotten the chance to.

The hope is to eventually expand into more things like music production. We are currently in the middle of producing our first record and hope to add more bands to that in the future.

As we continue to grow and expand EYE, we hope that our next chapter can bring us into more creative endeavors such as film production, music production, art installations, anything that can be created both visually and auditorily.
