Meet Gina Gina’s Simple Beauty

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gina Gina’s Simple Beauty a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Gina, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience… it’s a word I love because , We CAN overcome anything and everything when we find our power. For me, it’s my faith. And the the stronger my faith in Jesus has become , I feel unstoppable.
In my younger years, I was insecure, scared and always seeking approval. And that lead me to addiction and hard times real quick. But in that journey, is where I started therapy and church and it changed my life.
It’s where I got the guidance and help to start my own business at 24 years old and now it’s 27 years later and I’m still working and loving it and actually thriving more than ever. I found my purpose, I love making women feel & look amazing, because again when we find that in ourselves, we shine.
And as life is , there was still difficult times in life , but every time I lean in to the word and turn to my faith, I have seen and I know I will get through .
3 years ago, I was walking through a lot of loss, lost my 23 year old cousin to cancer , then my Dad to a stroke and in Los Angeles, life was becoming so expensive and hard and stressful. And then with Covid, the world felt like just too much.
My husband & I decided to take a trip with friends to Tennessee, just to hear some country music and when I came to Tennessee, something happened. I just felt this peace , and beauty I’ve never felt, and I knew I wanted to live here.
But give up 25 years of clients, friends , my whole world ?!! But I have two young kids and I just felt like I had to take the risk .
And we did it !!! We believed, we prayed and yes it was hard , but I’m now thriving in a town I love ! Meeting new beautiful faces and by the grace of God, I built a business in just 2 years!!!!
And I’m doing it exactly the way I dreamed and wanted it to be , at 50 years old.
You can do whatever you want , you just need to believe you can !

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I specialize in Brows, skin care and Makeup . Brows are my jam! You can change a persons whole face with great brows . I wax, tint or laminate them and it’s amazing.
And with my facials , I take a simple approach that skincare can be simple and yet effective. I love to spoil my clients and when they come in , it’s a place to truly relax and destress. I keep my prices affordable, because everyone should take care of their skin.
And with Makeup , my style is Natural Glam. I love doing family photoshoots , weddings and Proms. And recently, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to go on the live TV show, called Localon2, here in Nashville and it has been amazing, talking all things beauty .

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Consistency , ALWAYS, being on time, available and a person of my word with my business
Education , I’m always striving to be better and on top of all new trends and staying teachable
My faith , I’m perfectly, wonderfully made and I can do all things with God

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

I feel like recently I’ve really started to be more present in my life and my body , that I ever have been .
And honestly, it’s a lot of things , again, my faith, journaling, and trying not to react right away but to stop and reflect and see were I can do and be better.
Also making sure every day that I get my body moving , whether it’s just a morning stretch, or a walk outside. Grounding myself with nature is amazing
Also not always trying to talk, but to listen more
