Meet Rosie Vann

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rosie Vann. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Rosie , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from my authentic self. I always feel a really deep sense of gratitude. Even when challenges present themselves I have a sense of hope. I’m not sure how it came about honestly but I just always recognize that there is more good than bad. So I think it’s really just my perspective on life.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Rosie Vann, and I am serial entrepreneur and fashion stylist to both women and men. I wear many hats, but my primary focus professionally is to make people feel confidant through fashion. I have reinvented how that looks many times. Fashion and style have always come naturally to me. I don’t see it as intimidating, I see it as a way to show your personality and build confidence.

My career in fashion has evolved from wholesale, to corporate retail, to boutique owner, as well as brand ambassador. I love the freedom in fashion and the freedom in my career to keep shaking things up.

My mission is to make style accessible. I love people and connection. So my “job” brings me a ton of joy in the way of creating a safe place for someone to try something new without expectations. This is the root of what I do through fashion and I love it.

My career has taken many turns but the constant is that it involves connecting with people through fashion. I now have a boutique in Colleyville called Rose & Rivets where we sell both men and women’s apparel and accessories as well as gifts. It has been a labor of love to create and we are going into 2023 with a fresh vision for the business, which is incredibly exciting.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I don’t know that I am an expert on this topic but I can say with confidence that I am persistent. I stay the course even when I have a miss. I just keep going. I am also self disciplined, which is imperative as an entrepreneur/business owner. Lastly, I believe strongly in networking and being open to new opportunities. Reason being we all have our gifts, and there is so much to gain from having a strong network to assist in business.

My advice to people early in their journey is really simple.
1. Don’t give up and learn to pivot. Mistakes bring wisdom not failure.
2. Create routines as an entrepreneur and have a plan but be flexible on how you execute it.
3. Be open. Be open to learning, to collaborating, and to opportunity. This is part of that networking element. Listen and pay attention because opportunities are not always clear initially.
4. Lastly surround yourself with the “doers” in life and just keep positive and moving forward. Someone I really love and admire told me Tiggers need to be around Tiggers and that absolutely contributes to keeping an optimistic outlook.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Always! I am always open to collaborating as well as supporting other small businesses. I currently collaborate with a boutique in Southlake called Scout & Molly’s as their brand ambassador and it has been fantastic. Our boutique is also inside a salon in Colleyville called Elixir X Dv8, which has been an incredible partnership. It has allowed up to create a really fun space inside a business we greatly admire.

Going forward I would love to collaborate with new fashion lines and designers. I love sharing new ideas and products and connecting people. One way we do this is through pop-ups or trunk shows. So I would love to make more connections with local designers and artists to do more of these.
